What to do on the 4th of July - not in a theme park?

We will be in Orlando this year on the 4th. Is there anything special we should do or see . . . without going to one of the theme parks? We'd like to avoid that mob scene. Any special activities during the day? Public fireworks displays? Other cool stuff?

hey I am staying at VWL to see the MK fireworks...

I would think that Orlando and Kissimmee both have fireworks - I looked at their websites - but I couldn't find any information - I would send them emails -
