what to do on our last day?

On our last day, we leave around 5. What can we do with our partial day without paying for admission to the parks? We do already have plans for Downtown Disney earlier in the trip.

Disney has some great mini golf courses. There is Disney's Winter Summerland (near Blizzard Beach) and it has two different courses and Fantasia Gardens (near the Swan and Dolphin). It used to be that if you played more then one course on the same day the second was half price. You just had to show them the receipt from the first game. My DH and I had a lot of fun playing all of them. There's also a lot of neat pictures you can get of the mini golf courses too. They are themed just as much as everything else at Disney.

Ever thought of Resort hop through busses and/or monorail and/or boat and go on a Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt? Maybe go to a resort to look at shops, look at features (AKL has a view of the animals from the observation deck). Go to the Boardwalk and check out the stores, Beaches and Cream, ESPN Zone. Maybe get an Orlando guidebook and see if any deals on anything.

We love to do a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's the last day. That way we can say "goodbye" to all the characters.

What great ideas! Thank you -- I think we will be able to fill the partial day very quickly.

Along with resort hopping, if you are staying at a resort that offers the water mice, drive around. Or you could rent a bike. But DTD is always a must for us. Oh make sure you go to Earl of Sandwich for lunch and right before you leave, buy some more sandwiches for the next day. It's a great way for the memories.

this trip we are doing DTD but that isnt an option for you since you would have already done that.

But the last trip we spent the last day resort hopping getting all the press pennies that we could. It was fun. We made it into a giant scavenger hunt.

Our favorite last day outing: Went to the Wilderness Lodge. Rented bikes. Rode bikes to Fort Wilderness Campground. Rode around, looked at horses and animals. Played on the playground. Had lunch at the Trail's End Buffeteria. Rode back to Wilderness Lodge. Shopped at Wilderness Lodge. It was a great day!

You could play Disney Bus Roulette.

At your resort, get onto the very first bus that arrives - take it to where ever it goes (one of the parks or DTD), then if it's a park, take the first resort bus that comes - tour that resort, get a snack or something to drink, then take the first bus that comes to a different park, and grab the first bus that comes.

Ends up being totally random, and you never know where you'll end up!

I also second the mini-golf suggestion - the courses are a lot of fun.

Go over to Fort Wilderness to pet the Horses and go to the petting zoo, hang out by the pool, ride the monerail, have lunch, go to downtown Disney and just have fun!

Go horseback riding at Fort Wilderness. Or rent a paddleboat or sea racer on one of the lakes. Have some unstructured fun!

You say you are doing DTD but are you going to Disney Quest. If not you could do that on your last day since you are not leaving until 5PM that would give you plenty of time.

We always go into the parks and hit our favorites again, and generally just soak up the atmosphere and take it easy.

Depending on the length of your MYW tickets (if that is what you have) the cost of an extra day may only be a few dollars. When we went in June, the 8 day MYW base ticket was actually cheaper than the 7 day MYW base on ticket mania. The difference between a 6 day and an 8 day was only $12 total for 3 adults and a child ticket.

I love the idea about the Character Meal at Chef Mickeys (Contemporary Resort).

When we have late flights we always just go to a park anyway. On an average Disney Day we end up spending 7 hrs in a park anyway. The difference to add one more day is usually pretty minimal.

We love to wander around the Boardwalk/Yacht and Beach Club area. This is actually better as an evening activity (the lights are really pretty) but it would be fun in the daytime, too. Make sure you go to Beaches and Cream in the Beach Club to get ice cream sundaes!

We also like to ride the monorail loop around the monorail resorts, and wander through the Grand Floridian, walk on the Poly beach, etc. You can also take a boat to the Wilderness Lodge, and go check out the geyser.

We've done most of those over different trips. Went back to favorite parks to "finish up" things we missed. One year we took the buses to different resorts and looked at holiday decoratios (that was great). One year we went to DTD and ate early lunch and went to a movie. Lots of great ideas here.

Have lunch at the Kona Cafe at Poly. Tour the resort, then hop the monorail to Gr Floridian. Beautiful resorts.

Take the monorail from MK to Epcot, but wait for the seat up front with the driver to become available.

the late breakfast at Disney sounds like a great idea. We always drive. It takes a good 9 hours to drive so we usually get up and on the rode pretty early. I hate it. i wish we could take advantage of that day.
