What to do on First Day?

We are considering driving to DL from Oregon and thinking we will be arriving around 10AM. Should we start out with a character meal, DTD, or DL? We have a little girl that will be almost 4 at the time in December.

My immediate reaction would be that a character meal would be fun - but the more I think about it I would probably start the day in one of the parks (maybe even DCA depending on how much later it is compared to DL park opening). My rationale being that after a long drive - with a four year old - sitting down for a character meal may be setting yourself up for disaster

I would vote for DCA, 10 is a great time to get into this park, you could go immediatly to the Redwood creek are and blow off steam, and the bugs life area is a perfect way to start out on rides....then build up.Playhouse Disney would be a blast....and top it off at the animation building.

I can tell you my kid would never sit still for a character meal with DL and CA right there and she hasn't been yet, go to the parks for the day.....
