what to do in st louis...

ok... so i'm heading out to the st louis area in about 3 months to vist my uncle and aunt. he told me to figure out what i wanted to do. i'll be there for about 4 1/2 days and one of those days is going to be spent driving to mansfield to see the little house museum. so i've got 3 1/2 days... what do i see?

The two biggies that no one has mentioned so far are the Mo. Botanical Garden and the City Museum (an odd art-in-residence experience that has to be seen to be believed.) Eat on the Hill, shop in Clayton, party in Soulard, and go antiquing in old town St. Charles.

I'm so glad you're going to Mansfield...I just loved it. They actually have Pa's fiddle in the museum!!!!!!

If you drive a fit further west, you'll be able to eat at Lambert's, the home of the throwed rolls.

In St. Louis, I'd go to the Art Museum...it's in a building left over from the world's fair (1904, I believe). The zoo is very nearby. The botanical gardens is nice, and don't miss the Arch. Also visit St. Louis cathedral. Eat Italian Food on the Hill (have some toasted ravioli for me!!!!!) and frozen custard at Ted Drewes.

What are your interests? We also have the Butterfly House, which is pretty neat, we have the museum of Dogs, I think the bowling museum is out here...

Six Flags is pretty close, not sure if they'll be open then though, Grant's farm is historical and a nice way to spend an afternoon, Purina Farms is cool for pet lovers. I think there's a place in the central west end that will teach you to blow glass...

They have an awesome zoo. The science museum is fun. If you go to the Arch, walk over and check out Laclede's Landing. Head to The Hill for Italian food.

can't wait to go to mansfield. what's a throwed roll? doing the museum and the arch... i will definately have some toasted raviolis for you... yum!!!

One don't bother suggestion....don't bother with the boat ride on the Mississippi. Not much to see in my opinion. Another vote for Ted Drewe's frozen custard. It's on what used to be Route 66!

You absolutely have to go to The City Museum. It is beyond awesome. Also they have a WONDERFUL zoo! I found it even cooler than the Dallas/Ft Worth zoo. The arch is fun to see once. We have been to the top before and now that we have I know that I will never do it again but it is pretty neat go up. Have fun!

i'll have to think about the dog museum. i'm a huge dog fan, i have a lab and a cocker, but my uncle just had to put his baby down and i don't wanna bring up any badness while i'm there.

no six flags. i've got one here and the last time we went, we all though it was ghetto compared to WDW.

i'm old enough, but my bf is the casino person, not me.

i eat pretty much anything, except thai (peanut allergy). and my uncle lives in belleville, IL.

i have to say, i am not a huge baseball fan.

I have lived in St. Louis all of my 39 years I see lots of good suggestions already. I agree that we really do have a nice zoo. It is in Forest Park and there are other fun things to do there as well. Grants Farm is another favorite of ours and of course Cardinal baseball I am not sure if anyone mentioned the Science Center? Not my type of place really, but thought I would throw it out there. Plenty of casinos if you like to gamble. I personally don't think our Six Flags is very nice. If you have any other questions, I would be glad to help!

If you are thinking of the Zoo......admission is free!! There is a charge to ride the train or go in the chilren's zoo, but not too many cities have a free zoo!
