there's a fam reunion planned there - we're tryin to decide if we'll spend any extra time there - they plan to hike (somewhere ) & do the aquarium. What else is there to do within a short(ish) drive?

Not far from the aquarium, the Chatanooga Lookouts play. Not sure if you're a baseball fan or not, but they're a AA minor leage team that used to be affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds (yeah I know, Reds kind of suck), but now they're affiliated with the LA Dodgers, so they could have some cool prospects.

New member, so my post count isn't up and I can't post links, but if you google Chatanooga Lookouts you'll find team info.

The river front area can keep you busy all day.

We always stay in hotel within walking distance. Children's museum, water splash areas for the kids to play in . The Ducks are lots of fun to ride in the river.

Lookout Mountain is always fun too. Ruby Falls and Rock City are great. Incline Railway and Reflection Riding.
Racoon Mountain is another place.
http://www.tvrail.com/ is wonderful. You can take a train ride with family. We have done that several times.

The Historic Delta Queen is a neat place to stay.
Hunter Museum for the arts.
Hamilton Place mall for shopping.
Lots of neat places to eat, several featured on Food Channel.
There is so much to do in Chattanooga .. can take up to several days to do it all.

I am a Chattanooga girl at heart. My Dad who is 84 was born and raised there. I have such fond memories of visiting. It has grown up so much. I love to take my kiddos there to visit.

if you like the shop, the hamilton place mall is really nice.

when you go to the aquarium, you can get tickets to the imax next door. it shows nature documentaries.

There's a Children's Museum near the aquarium for under 10yo crowd.

ATT field where the Lookouts play is right behind the IMAX theater. Everything is walking distance in that area. Creative Discovery Museum

Riverbend Festival happens in June. It is nine day music festival.

We visited Chattanooga last summer, and my family really enjoyed Ruby Falls and Rock City.
