Due to a change of dates for a planned Dec trip to VWL I'll be two pts short of my banked & current yr. I know I can borrow from the following yr,but are there other options ? Can I pay cash for a pro-rated portion of the last day I'm two points short on ? Thanks in advance all you experts.

You could pay cash for one entire night (if available for cash), not one or two points. You could put up an ad on the rent board. Or borrow the points, which would probably be the easiest way.

IMHO, the only real solution is an add on of say....100 more points!!!:D

I l ike your answer Doctor P (my pocketbook doesn't, but I do.)

I feel your pain. (A little Bill Clinton there). I've got about 7 points that I think will be constantly banked till 2042.;)

I guess I don't really see the issue when you have points available to borrow. The real crunch comes in when you've borrowed all your points ahead and are still short. The rental board has been wonderful for us in that regard, an additional 7 points made a huge difference in our vacation, thank you to all you wonderful renters out there.

actually we seem to be perpetually in the red- borrowed well in to the next year.

I think it works out a little better that way than to always bank. It seems you wind up with slightly more flexibility borrowing points rather than banking.

When you bank into the next year, you have to assume you will be able to use those points that year. If you're the other way and you're borrowing, you only borrow when the actually reservation is made, so if you cant use them you just dont borrow.

Besides the way i figure in 2042 theres going to be an ugly brawl for reservations, so if i use up my points in 2041- i beat you all to the punch ;) :D ;) :)

I'll be too old to brawl in 2042. Based on our point usage, I would have to put us in the "borrowed to the hilt" category. We're going to pay cash for a cruise and skip this year's OKW trip in order to catch up a bit on the borrowed points situation.

Of course, we could always add on........
