What to do if there is a snake in your car engine?

I am now living about 300 yards from the river here in Louisanna I see snakes every day. As long as it doesn't get into the car itself I wouldn't worry too much about it like other posters have said it's the heat from the engine that attracted it when it cools down it will leave. It's still creepy though I hate snakes.

Oh and we have an alagator living close by with babies. Had one of the babies come up on the front steps the other day talk about :scared:

You see snakes every day??? I would freak out! Nothing much gets to me...except snakes!:scared1:

Normally, I'm not too bothered by snakes BUT I have an active imagination. In this case, if I did not see the snake leave, I would be too freaked out to drive that car! I would probably wreck because something tickled my leg and I had convinced myself that the snake had slithered through the airvents or something!! Nope, no thanks, not driving today!!!

I totally agree with PP. Snakes skeeve me out. I would be terrified to get near the car in fear that would be the exact time it would decide to come slithering out. :scared: :scared1: I would need to see from afar that it came out...and then my dh would take care of it. :rolleyes1

this!! i'm ophidiophobic...extremely...i'd never be able to get in that car again.

I don't know, but you win the award for the most amusing thread title.

I like snakes. I'd be afraid I'd hurt it by starting it up.

Google "How to make a car bomb." Assemble, take cover, and detonate immediately.

forget the car. i would be more worried about it getting in the house.

I keep telling myself it was the same black snake we have seen the backyard a few times...and that there are not numerous snakes around our house. DH drove back to work and I watched him go all the way down our street to see if it fell out, and never saw it. If snakey rode all the way back to DH's office, it could now be on the Animal Kingdom savannah!

BTW....DH has been using Woody's line from Toy Story..."There's a snake in my car!"

Oh the problems we face living in Florida. I would not be driving that car until the snake was removed. Call the critter catchers cuz I'm not touching a snake.

My husband just got home from work, parked the car in the driveway, and there was snake in the driveway. As he came in the house, he saw the snake go under the car and "jump" up into the underside of the car, around the engine area. Now what do we do?????????

Since I am of the "the only good snake is a dead snake" school of thought, the car would be sold ASAP. In the meantime, I would cuss my DH a blue streak for not running over it when he had the chance, chopping it to bits with a hoe if he missed it with the car or shooting it in self defense if all else failed.:rotfl2:

He would wish he had just strangled the snake with his bare hands by the time I was finished with my hysterical rant.

Someone should ask Woody how to get rid of it, doesn't he say "there's a snake in my boots?":lmao:

Call the snake guy.
Our local police department have a list of people that will come out and catch the snake and release it back into the bush.:cool1:
I LOVE being an aussie, we have the best wildlife:lmao:

Good luck, hope the snake has slithered away.

So weird -- is it the time of year for snakes or something? I was going out to the garage, heard something, and saw the tail of a snake disappearing behind our lawn mower. I ran in the house, got my keys, and backed the car out of the garage -- I could picture it doing just what yours did -- getting up into the car somehow!

We never found the snake, so I'm guessing/hoping it eventually left the garage. Then I saw another (same one?) over by the camper yesterday. Other people on FB have been talking about snakes, too. Is it an invasion?!

Oh my god i would die :scared1:. I too beleive the only good snake is a dead one, same goes for frogs, toads and any kind of lizards. I dont know how you floridians survive. Is there a time of year that you dont see the geckoes, snakes etc ??? Yes ... that is a serious question. My husband talks about buying a holiday home in florida but i dont know if my nerves could stand it . I would be on red alert all the time watching for those terrifying creatures :scared:
My vote goes to googling how to make a car bomb too, that should get rid of the sucker !!

I heard on the news that it is mating season for some reptiles. Don't know if that is true but there are certainly lots of slithering sightings recently!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::worship:

In my case it would be a case of shut the bonnet down, walk into the house and change my clothes, I just know what would happen if I saw a snake in my car.

:rotfl2:

I only know what that word means cause I watch Top Gear :lmao:

Was I the only person who's first thought was "Run like the wind, fat man!" (No that's not directed at OP!!!!) But that was a different thread, and about a possum.
