So I’ve got to be prepared for
DAS being denied since it seems that not many people get it anymore.
Anyway my question is what should we do if DAS is denied.
I don’t get left alone due to lots of issues. So if I have to leave then hubby and young kids have to leave.
Am I best just to only walk around and maybe only do rides at rope drop- as going back to the queue won’t be an option will it as there is no one actually in the queue to go back to. Do I ask the cast member at the front and hope?
I’d quite like to know the options before I pay £2000 for shows and the option to buy food etc.
I understand your concern. Even though I want to be completely independent and still try to do a lot of things alone; it’s getting much less safe & my hubby is very uncomfortable with it.
As the PP suggested, planning to enjoying the ambiance, the shows, the resorts, etc, can be a very chill & enjoyable trip/experience! (I’ve been doing that more & more!!)
On the other hand, if your main focus is to enjoy rides with your family- then I would say to book everything in a refundable way, do not let your kids know about the trip, & chat with the DAS team ASAP (at the 30-day mark). Make 2 “plans”- one
with DAS & 1
without (utilizing rope-drop & any extra times your family can access shorter lines- like Disney’s 1/2 hour early entrance, or Disney Deluxe’s extended evening hours @EP & MK… you may even consider buying less day tix in exchange for a few (paid) nighttime parties/events & enjoying some built-in daytime downtime to enjoy the pools, etc, with your family

)
Consider paying for LL. If you’re able to use that as a planning tool, it really is a great alternative. I would not have recommended
Genie+… but the current paid LL is basically the old FP (just paid) & much better for planning. Also consider that the DAS team may offer you alternative accommodation options (even if not the “full
MDE DAS” experience).
If you don’t like the look of “plan B” (without DAS)- voice that concern while chatting with the DAS team (not in a threatening- if I don’t get this, I’ll never do Disney again… but in a more, this is how sincerely this will affect our ability to Disney together way). Be nice to the CM’s. They’re in a tough spot right now- with a lot of people getting angry with them. Being kind & compassionate will never hurt your chances.
You also may need to have a “plan B” vacation destination fall-back (also booked & fully refundable) if DAS does not come through & you can’t figure a good way to do Disney without it. I know that’s a lot of leg-work & can be an emotional rollercoaster, but it looks like you’re trying to guard against sudden heartbreak with no backup… and this is how I’d do it.
As another *hopeful* encouragement… I was sure I’d be denied this time after reading & hearing about so many denials (especially for significant physical medical issues- which is the camp I’m in). It was a LONG, painful conversation (~2 hrs) that required me to request speaking to a supervisor & the supervisor requesting me to speak with a health professional… but DAS was granted to me. That doesn’t mean you’re going to automatically get it too, but don’t give up hope until you’ve chatted with them yourself.
Best of luck!! Throwing pixie dust & well wishes your way!!!
