What to do for one extra night? Room only or add to package? UPDATE

I purchased a AAA Package plus dining. We already have the 7 day park hoppers, so there wouldn't be any extra money for tickets. I don't really need the extra day of dining, so should I just do a room only ressie on my own? Will I have to change rooms if I do that, or will I be ok? Or should I just pay the extra $100 for the dining plan (2 adults/3kids) and have my AAA agent add it on?

I'd do the room only. Bet you'll have extra dining credits to use anyway - they should be good the whole day you check in to the room only portion. So you'll only have to pay to eat on the final check out day. When you make the room only ressie, ask the CM to note the confirmation number (the one the AAA agent gave you from Disney) on the room only ressie and also to note that you want to stay in the same room. Then ask your TA to do the same for the AAA pkg reservation. Mention it again when you first check in - bet you won't have to move.

Tell the CM when you check in that you have 2 reservations. One being the package and the other being the one night room only. They can link the reservations. We had 2 reservations at the WL last year. (annual pass rate and AAA rate). They linked our reservations. We did not have to switch rooms but on the day that the first reservation ended and the other started, I did have to go to the front desk and check out of one room and check into the other.

Thanks! We ended up doing the extra day on the package. I couldn't get the AAA rate for one night through CRO (called 3 times), but could extend the AAA rate in my package. It was actually cheaper to do the package plus dining for an extra night vs the rack rate!
