We are going to be at WDW this Easter. I would love to hear some ideas for special things to do.

I was planning on Easter egg hunt, church and dinner at Chef Mickey.

We are staying at CB. Can we go to other resorts that may have a better Easter egg hunt??

Any other ideas that could make this even more special????

Thanks!

As I have not been at CB during Easter, I cannot tell you whether its Easter Egg hunt is any better or worse than others. You can go to any resort's Easter events. BoardWalk's are usually pretty good with somewhat of a hunt but also craft events on the walk and usually both a MR and MRs. Easter Bunny. Nevertheless, as a whole (and I have seen many of them) the Easter Egg hunts are about it and I was never really that impressed, partcularly since they are extremely crowded.

One thing to understand is that Disney does not treat Easter like Christmas and thus you will not find it going overboard on Easter. Things at Easter are far more subdued and the time is treated more like just a regular spring break period. MK has an "Easter Parade" but that is just the daily 3 p.m. parade with Easter floats added and that parade goes everyday of the week leading up to Easter and Easter. I would not recommend even trying to go to MK on Easter -- nothing goes on there that day which you cannot see another day of the week -- because just about everybody goes there on Easter Sunday (likely because many believe, incorrectly, that something special does go on there that day) and the other parks tend to have their lightest (but still very crowded) day of the holiday period on Easter Sunday.

Did you ask this question over on the resorts board, too? I don't think there is much special planned in the parks themselves. Most of any special events will be at the different resorts.

I'm sure the experts over on the resorts board can fill you in on any special events planned for Easter.

When we were there in 2000 over Easter, there was a GIGANTIC chocolate (real chocolate) easter egg outside the entrance to the Garden Grill. You could actually smell the chocolate as you walked up the stairs!!! They also had a woman in Germany (or maybe it was Norway???) decorating eggs...it was fascinating to watch.

What the CM's did was corner off areas for the different age groups, placed hay in that area and they had dumped various types of Easter treats. They gave out Easter Bunny Hand Puppets (plastic) for the kids to collect the treats. It was mayhem but my DD loved it! Then they had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Chip and Dale show up for picture ops.

Check out Deb's site, I think there is a write up about it.

We're shipping the Easter basket to the Polynesian. Our plan is to hide them with concierge staff until Easter and then fill them with Disney stuff and have the staff place them in the room while we're gone for the day. We'll be at Discovery Cove that day and then when we get back they'll find their baskets right before dinner at 'Ohana.
