What to do for breakfast

I'm wondering what most people do for breakfast everyday. It will be just DH and I in June at POFQ. No dining plan. We are used to staying an 8 minute walk from Disneyland at a place that provides a free breakfast. We grab some food, eat, and go.
Well, no free grab and go breakfast at WDW! Do most people just eat something small at their resort food court before heading out for the day? What do you typically eat? And how long does it take to get your food, pay for it, and eat?
We are flying, so we can't bring a bunch of food to eat in the room. Or is there something easy to put in our suitcases that isn't too heavy?
We think we will try Kona and Boma for two of the days. (Maybe non park days?)
Oh, and can you fill up your resort mug with coffee and bring it with you on the bus? DH always likes to take a cup of coffee to go to start his day at the parks.
So the big question is: What do you do for breakfast on a typical park day?

You can take your cup on the bus as long as it's covered. We usually just eat something like muffins while we're getting dressed, but since you're at POFQ, it's worth hitting the food court for nice, fresh begniets.

Have a great time.

:)

I agree on grabbing beignets from POFQ. I also throw some granola bars or protein bars for a quick breakfast but honestly, most of the time, they go uneaten. We will grab a pastry in the park or a cinnamon roll and eat on the go.

I usually bring some sort of breakfast bar - its small and quick and keeps me going until lunch

The fresh begniets sounds lie a good quick option if you are at POFQ - I really need to try those some time - but i never stay at POFQ

At MK I usually go to the waffle place in Liberty square - just don't go too early as the waffles may be pre-made and sitting around for a little bit - much better if it is fresh made
They have a few options and even a breakfast waffle sandwich and they are priced reasonably imo

There is always the Main Street Starbucks as well

We usually get a couple meals in the resort food court and split between the four of us. Sometimes we get pastries instead. This last trip, we had pop tarts and things we ate in the room some days.

We usually eat fruit and dry goods for breakfast as the lunch portions are failry large.

My favorite is pecose bill in MK where you can get the taco salad and pile on the toppings

We usually bring some fruit and muffins with us. We use the space in our suitcases for the things we acquire on the trip. :)

We are flying. A few days before trip I will mail a package to resort with poptarts, mini muffins, snacks etc..

We will definitely try the beignets at least one day, but we can't eat that everyday.
Can you bring fruit in your suitcase? I know when you drive back in to California they check to make sure you aren't bringing fruit in over the state line.
If the Starbucks on Main Street is anything like the one at DCA, then the line will be at least 30 min and not a good use of early park time.

Is there any food in the parks that we can bring back and have for breakfast the next morning? Has anyone done that?

The waffle place in MK is on my list to try. :goodvibes

I fly and pack protein bars in my luggage and then usually eat an early lunch!

We're also a couple not on the dining plan. What we do is have a muffin or similar that we've bought at a bakery or the resort gift shop the night beforehand. It's now part of our daily tradition to be sure that we have a breakfast item for the next day. I suppose it would be cheaper to bring from home, but everything tastes better from WDW!

We have been staying at POFQ. We always have breakfast at the hotel. My fiance usually gets the oatmeal with the fixin's - you can add fruit, nuts, etc. I always get the egg, bacon and cheese on a croissant. We both find it filling and then just have a quick snack in the park - I usually get a smoothie and he just needs a giant coffee. Then we eat an early dinner which is great because we avoid the crowds. We find that we are fine with the two meals a day and a little snack.
You can bring your mug to the park, but you can't refill it there. Personally, I would hate to carry it around all day and would rather just get another coffee at the park. It may be a little more money per day but better than carrying the mug around all day and/or risking losing it.
And I do agree with Simba's mom - "everything tastes better in WDW!" I don't like eggs at home, but they are fine at WDW on that croissant sandwich!

... we combine several of the options listed above, AND:

1. I bring instant oatmeal, and use the coffee maker to make the hot water;

2. We order groceries from GardenGrocer.com, for refrigerated items. Disney keeps them stored in refrigeration, and actually delivers the package to your room after you arrive (be sure to order water and soda too - they are both really expensive at Disney.)

3. Sometimes I pick-up things the night before for breakfast (like, I stop at the French bakery before I head back to my resort, and pick up a quiche);

4. We actually bought a travel toaster for $8 at Target (on clearance), and we keep it in our suitcase. Then, we order bagels and bring peanut butter.

Then, we also do the breakfast bars, already discussed. :-)

I'm a breakfast person, so we do it a little different than most.

I usually schedule a TS breakfast, and TS dinner. We wing it for lunch and all throughout the middle of the day. Snacks here and there. We don't do DDP though, we have TIW.

But I love starting the morning off with a nice breakfast.

DW and I are not morning people, so we usually just have a banana or a bagel in the room and head to the parks around 10 or 11.

Hi, I also pack some disposable coffee cups with lids to put coffee in to take with me in the mornings. I make my own that I also bring with me (we stay DVC) and use the cups when I want to take a cup with me. You could easily fill your mug and transfer to disposable,so that you do not have to carry mug around all day. :) Joan

I"ve tended to bring room stuff in my suitcase.

Bread/bagel and peanut butter
Kbars
instant oatmeal (you can use the coffee machine for plain hot water and the cups from coffee maker and I grab spoons from the food court)
dried fruit/trail mix.

I can't eat eggs and honestly don't like pastries/pancakes/waffles/donuts etc for breakfast so it's no big deal for me to skip it, do a snack in my room and then just plan on an early lunch.

The coffee cups in your room fit the lids in the foodcourt, so I always grab some lids and keep them in my room so that my morning drink can be taken on the bus, then I dump the cup at the park. I always ask for extra cups.

I'm actually on the dining plan this trip and I'm having to completly rethink normal routines as between credits and F&W it's already a lot of food. So I may actually end up in the food court for breakfast, but honestly I'm not looking forward to it. It's always a mob scene.

We are also breakfast people!!

To the OP: we tend to hit buffets for breakfast... That usually holds us pretty well until dinner time, if we do get hungry between breakfast and dinner we will just grab a small snack... If like to recommend The Wave at The Contemporary, they have an AMAZING breakfast buffet for less than $20 per person, and after you can take the short walk to the magic kingdom. We have it booked 3 times for our upcoming trip!
