What to do for breakfast at Boardwalk Villas?

We always stay in 1 bedrooms, but for the first time in years, we are staying Studio at Boardwalk for our upcoming trip to conserve a few points. This means no full kitchen, and since we normally cook, we are confuzzled...

Boardwalk Bakery is closed and Beachclub Marketplace doesn't serve breakfast if I remember correctly. Not interested in spending hundreds of dollars on pancakes and waffles to eat at TS restaurants, so we are not sure what to do?

We can't subsist on justs coffee or toast, as we have low blood sugar, so we need protein, fruit, grains, etc. I know the Value Resorts/AofA have good food courts, but not sure that will work for us either?

Any suggestions? I am normally right on my game with Disney planning, but have been off sick the past few days, and my brain is not functioning correctly it would seem.

Any suggestions? Tiger

They have set up a temporary tent on the boardwalk to serve as a substitute location while the bakery is being worked on.

Continental breakfast-type items are being served in the Belle Vue Lounge on the BoardWalk Inn side and at a temporary bakery location (tent) out on the BW.

Beach Club Marketplace does serve hot breakfast items.

If you're not looking for anything elaborate, you could pick up boxes of cold cereal and toaster waffles at the general store to prepare in your room. Prices are higher than your local grocery store but it will still be cheaper than buying a la carte breakfast items every morning.

Thanks for suggestions.

Already know about those and won't work for us as I mentioned we have low blood sugar, so can't subsist on a muffin for breakfast. Heavy carbs don't work for us and we can't eat eggs either, so we are limited.

I know that TS options are available at Kouzzina, Captain's Grille and Swan/Dolphin too.

Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything in this area as it's been a couple of years since we've stayed here.

I will keep working at it! Thanks, Tiger

Since you know about Picabos at the Dophin, try it. Bring your DVC card, but be aware that there is a service charge added to bring the cafeteria style food to your table.

We've never eaten here. What do you mean a service charge? Like what Pepper Market charges?

Do you know what kind of foods are available here? The online menus are very dated.

Thanks, Tiger :thumbsup2

What types of food are you looking for??

I do not know the amount of the charge. I do not know of an updated menu, but it is a cafeteria style, and then food is brought to your table. As a family, we have eaten there a few times, and everyone found something they liked.

Why don't you call the Dolphin and name things you would be able to eat & see if they are available?

The DVC discount is a bit larger than the service charge if I remember correctly.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Sinus headache extreme...:confused3 We eat lean turkey bacon, toast, fruit, waffles, potatoes, yogurt, milk/juice.

Thanks. I might do that, as I am currently staring at menus, and that isn't helping. LOL!

Thank you both, Tiger

We only stay in studios and almost always do breakfast in. You have plenty of options. I always get a grocery delivery from Garden Grocer with a large family size (24) box of frozen waffles, butter or margarine, syrup & fresh strawberries. The box of waffles is divided into 2 plastic sleeves inside and they will fit in the little freezer along with an ice tray if you remove them from the box. They toast up nicely and with a little fresh fruit make a decent / quick breakfast. If you'd rather have pancakes you can order those frozen too and heat them in the microwave. We also often order some pre-sliced bagels and cream cheese for a quick alternative to the waffles. I have also taken these little silicone egg pod poacher things along with a plastic container big enough to hold them in water in the microwave and have made Egg McMuffin sandwiches. I used the pre-cooked bacon that goes in the microwave, added a slice of cheese and toasted English muffins. :thumbsup2 (The only thing with these egg pod things is that you also need some cooking spray or something to coat them.)

FWIW we splurged on a breakfast at Kouzzina on our last morning and it was :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We usually stay in a studio at BWV. We bring extra paper bowls, pam, eggs, bacon, cheese, english muffins, bagels and we cook the eggs and bacon in the microwave.

Thanks for the suggestions. We don't microwave cook, nor can we eat eggs. We don't eat much processed foods either - we make our own waffles, pancakes and baked goods from scratch, fresh fruit, etc.

Kind of forgot about the whole breakfast limitation thing while staying in a studio, as we've been cooking in our 1 bedroom villas for so long now.

Thanks for all suggestions though! Tiger

Oh. Well. That's a tad bit of info. that would've been helpful to have in your first post. :rotfl: Guess you're eating out then 'cuz unless you pack an electric waffle maker and some flour or whatever it takes to make homemade waffles.:goodvibes Good luck.

Yes, I know. I am so sorry...my sinus cold is killing me today...:confused3

All of these suggestions are really helpful though, even if we can't use them all. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Tiger

Oh, okay. Looks like ordering that type food and having it in the studio won't work. That's what we do, but we don't have those issues you have.
Looks like you'll be heading over to Picabu...I actually love it there!!!! The food is very good, although a bit pricey.

Certainly there must be some sort of bar that would provide all the nutrients you desire? They make them now for almost all dietary restrictions. You could pack them in your bag to take with you, and have Garden Grocer deliver any fresh ingredients (I think you mentioned fruit?) you desire.

I can't remember if there are blenders available to use? If so, you could make a nutrient-rich protein shake or fruit smoothie.

Thanks for all suggestions!

We decided to eat at Kouzzina, Kona and Captain's Grille. They can accommodate for all of our dietary needs.

I forgot we have TIW card, so we will save there too!

Thanks for all suggestions, as I greatly appreciate it!

Tiger :)

We had breakfast at Kouzzina earlier this month, and it was delicious. I would head there for breakfast again in a heartbeat. In fact, if we hadn't changed resorts, we would have eaten there a second time during that same trip. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Don't forget about Fresh at the Dolphin. 20% DVC discount!:thumbsup2
