We are traveling at the end of September with our 2 daughters (4 months and 4 years). I have most things pretty planned, but one evening most of the parks are closing pretty early and it's in the middle of our trip, so I thought it would make for a relaxing night. We are staying at Boardwalk Villas and will eat a counter service that night. The time frame I am looking at is 5-9 after naps. Where would be fun to go and where would you eat? I'm thinking outside of the parks. Thanks!

head over to the fort wilderness cabins campground. at night they do movies with a fire and s'mores. whole scene is nice and relaxing. whole atmosphere at the campground is very relaxing especially at night.

I agree, the campfire and movie at Ft. Wilderness is nice. Actually, every resort plays a movie under the stars every night. You could could stay at your own resort and catch the one there if needed.

The Boardwalk area has great activities right there - street performers and such. Plus pool time is a definite since September is pretty hot weather. You could hop on the boat that services the hotels around the lake and just ride for a bit. Take your counter service meal "to go" and lay down some towels along the water or on a grassy area and eat picnic style. I also like the outdoor movie suggestion - they do it right at the Boardwalk as well!

I second pool time/Boardwalk area. We've never stayed at Boardwalk Villas, but we love to spend an evening there. We usually get dinner at Cape May in Beach Club, walk around the Boardwalk, grab ice cream cones and watch the street performers. There is a pizza window at Boardwalk that always looked good for dinner but we haven't tried it. You can also rent a surrey bike. I'm not sure where the campfire/movie is set up at Boardwalk - maybe at the clown pool, but I've seen the one on the beach at Beach Club so there is definitely one closeby.

Downtown Disney is a fun evening too with lots of entertainment, shopping and food options.

If you leave the Boardwalk area, are you taking Disney transportation or do you have your own car?
