Sold an item and buyer has yet to get back to me after I emailed twice. How long do you wait and what do you do if you don't hear from them?

I've been selling on ebay for 12 years. I would probably email again after a few days and wait about 10 days from the auctions close and then file for my fees back.

There is a way to report a non payment. Usually the system makes you wait a certain amount of days before you can report it. I forget what it is but it will tell you if you try.

I'm assuming that they haven't paid you yet?

I would email them once more, indicating that you will be relisting the item if they don't pay you or contact you within X amount of days.

Also, whenever I sell, I post on my auctions that payment is expected within 10 days of auction or the item will be relisted. Good luck :)

I had that happen, it was super lame! lol I sent the guy a message every 3 days after the auction ended, never heard from him so I gave him 14 days then filed non-paying bidder. He paid on the LAST day possible!! I even sent him a message and said if he didn't want the pin I'd be happy to sell it to the next bidder and heard nothing from him. Since he paid on the last day possible I shipped on the last day possible and I was fully prepared for him to leave me neg. FB but he didn't leave me any FB at all. Just wait however long eBay says you have to, keep sending him messages via eBay and then go to the resolution center and file non-pay bidder and see what happens.

Ebay says 4 days to file a non-paying bidder or cancel the transaction so you don't get charged the final value fee. I say payments are due 3 days after auction ends. I used to have 7 in my listings but I only take PayPal now so 3 days is plenty of time for payment.

I only sell as fixed price nowadays and give buyers 48 hours to pay. I have ebay set up to automatically start the non-payer process after 4 days.

Yes, you can file a claim through ebay on day 4 after the auction ends. Just go to the Resolution Center. I usually get paid once I fill that out.

I also used fixed price, along with immediate payment required. I was tired of people winning an auction and then deciding they didn't want the item.

I had a buyer once who didn't pay and didn't respond -- I sent them very polite emails -- "if there's a problem with being able to pay please let me know so we can see if something can be worked out", and after about five days I said that I would be contacting ebay about a non-payment -- and got a very nasty email back! "You can't even contact ebay until it's been 10 days, you can't leave negative feedback, but I sure can" -- they finally paid after a week, but didn't leave negative feedback. They're now on my list of non-allowed bidders.

I give 3 days to pay with all of my auctions. After the 3 days, I go to the resolution center and start the non-paying bidder process. Ebay sends the winning bidder an email asking them why they haven't paid and they I usually receive payment. If not, just let it take it's course in the resolution center and you'll get your fees back. :surfweb:
Then relist the item and block that person from bidding on any of your auctions, or go the second highest bidder if it was close to the price and offer them a second chance at the item.:cutie:
I don't send email after email offering to "work things out" - you'll never get paid and it's a waste of time. If they had a problem, they would email you to ask for extra time.

Wow! How rude! Imagine you expecting them to be courteous and pay for something that they bought from you in a timely fashion. What were you thinking? ;)

I still don't like the fact that you can't leave negative feedback on a non-paying bidder. Ebay is supposed to remove them after so many, but they can just open a new account.
