First and foremost - forgive me moderators for placing this here:rolleyes: , but I put this on the parks board and only received 1 answer out of 80 viewings.:sad1: So, I decided to ask my Community Board friends this question.:chat:

I'm really excited because the MK is open until 9pm when we are going and we have never had the pleasure of being at the MK in the evening (we are always there during the off season). We are wondering how we can make this evening really special.

We are traveling with our 2 DD's that are the ages of 6 and 13 months. This is our 6 yr old's 4th trip to The World and we would love her to experience some new and fun things. If any of you could give some suggestions on what we can do when the sun goes down, we would really appreciate it.

I hear Splash Mountain is cool at night. I am waiting still waiting to ride it at night. :o BTMRR is cool at night too. Those things don't help the 13 month old though. Oh and you have to watch Wishes. I think they are the best fireworks at the MK ever.

Well, without question, if Tink is flying and fireworks are on, you need to do that - and Spectromagic if it's running. All make for such magical WDW experiences. My favorite part of the day at MK.:D

The Jungle Cruise is more fun at night - kind of scarier. And it seems like the CMs have more fun with it.

I love the TTA, but it is even better at night. Tomorrowland is so beautiful when all the neon and other colorful lights are on.

Maybe someone will help out with this one, but stick around for the 'kiss'. I heard that they do something with the lights on Cindi's Castle when the park closes...a little help here? Anyone know what I'm talking about or am I

Any of the outside rides, like Splash and Big Thunder as mentioned above, take on a diffferent feel at night. Jungle Cruise takes on a whole different aura, even funnier, for what reason I don't know, than in the day. JC is a hoot at night.

Wishes and Spectro are stunning. And if you all could keep your eyes open, or have your 13 month old sleeping comfortably, staying for The Kiss Goodnight is magic, nothing like it. And then walking out Main Street, all aglow, especially if you have waited around for the Kiss, well, what can I say.

Enjoy.

Here is a link for the Kis Goodnight from Ahnalira's site. http://ourlaughingplace.com/media/quicktim/kiss.mov

It is a little different now, but similar, still a magic moment.

The Kiss is so awe-inspiring. I tingle just thinking about it. The castle changes colors - but not in a big flashy way - it's done so subtly that you hardly notice it's changing until it's changed. It's absolutely beautiful.:D

I'm still a little confused. What exactly is the Kiss Goodnight, and when does it happen?

Thank you to all my Community Board friends for responding to my thread:wave: . I just knew that if I posted this here more than 1 person would respond. I value all of your suggestions and all of you are just great.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Krista, after the park closes, like at 9 PM or whatever, virtually everybody starts heading out. If you go to the Hub, sit down for a bit, or do whatever (I am usually taking pictures, LOL) about 30 minutes to an hour later (it does vary)(and some nights they do not do it), the Castle changes colors, some talking, music (see the link above). If you were not a Disney nut (which most of us here are), you would wonder what the heck you waited an hour for (maybe a little less), but if you really enjoy the Mouse, it can really make you misty eyed. :o I have stayed many times with folks from the boards, and it is always enjoyable.

If you find yourself near the (2) train stations in the back of the park, I would ride it all the way to the front on Main Street. The view from the Main Street Train Station is breathtaking as you look toward the castle. Literally gives me the chills.

I agree with Tomorrowland at night. The lighting is cool. TTA would be good for your youngest one.

Nighttime is the best time at MK. There is a special magic that happens when the sun goes down. Maybe it's the pixie dust. Whatever it is, I could use some right now! :Pinkbounc How about an E Nite???:Pinkbounc
