What to do? Boma or RFC & AK EMH?

Im really stuck! Ok heres my problem...DH and I have ADRs for Boma on the 5th and on the 11th. We are DEF. keeping the one on the 5th for 5pm. However, the one on the 11th, the earliest I got was 8:40pm. Since we are staying at AKL, it works out well since we can go straight to our room afterwards. That day, the 11th, is also AK EMH night. We will be there litereally all day long from 8am, as we have an ADR for Donalds at 8:10am that day (the 11th) and dont plan to leave until about 7:30pm. Now the 11th is our only full day at AK. We do have plans to go back on 13th but have to leave by 3pm so we can get to Epcot on time for our ADR at Teppan Edo at 4:45pm.

Now heres the problem. I really wanted to be there for AK EMH, so we can ride EE at night and we have never seen AK at night before and really wanted to this time. However, since our ADR is at 8:40pm, it would be really pointless to even try to make it back to AK before it closes at 11pm. So if we decide to keep Boma on the 11th, we miss out on AK at night but get to eat at Boma twice! But if we cancel Boma, we can stick around and enjoy a full day at AK, be able to see AK at night and ride EE that night as well and we would eat at RFC.

So what do I give up - a Boma ADR or AK EMH?

Just also wanna mention that DH and I LOVE AK, and we could easily kill 2 full days there. And we are gonna be eating at RFC sometime during the trip. Either that day the 11th or on our arrival day for lunch at DTD. Or maybe even both days if we decide to cancel Boma.

From all my experiences at AK, we are typically done by 3:00 in the afternoon when we get there close to park opening - and that is doing every ride, show and spending a considerable amount of time at the Boneyard . I don't see a need for p.m. EMH at that park.

I dont see how thats possible All the times I been to AK, its always take us 1 1/2 days. Maybe we just like to tour the park at a slower pace then you or something. We can spend 2 hrs just looking at all the animals.

What time is AK open until with the extra magic hours? 8:00? Why not stay until 7:30 and then head back for your adr at 8:40?

I'm not sure what all you're planning on doing during EMH (just ride EE and see the park at night ), but when we were there last September, AK had EMH until 8:00pm....we didn't get there until 7:00pm......we rode EE 4 times in a row, then went over to Dinosaur while our 2 DS's rode something else....they rode their ride twice while we rode Dinosaur once.....by that time it was nearing closing so we headed out. If all you're wanting to do is ride EE a few times and see the park at night, you could easily keep your Boma ressie and head to AK right afterwards. Even if you get to AK at 10:00, that would give you plenty of time to ride EE a few times......that way you get the best of both worlds . Plus if you're staying at AK, the ride back to the resort is quick . But with all that said......if you think that would be too much, I would probably cancel the Boma ressie on the 11th and experience AK at night and ride EE with less crowds . When we did it we were staying at the Poly and it wasn't bad at all going to AK for just an hour.....and you'll be much closer staying at the lodge.

No with EMH in August their open until 11pm. The regular park closing time is 8pm.

Im kinda leaning just winging it. If we like the food at Boma on the 5th, we can then decide weither or not to keep our ADR for Boma on the 11th or just stay at AK. It will probably be a last minute decision type thing. But if we dont like the food or really could care less about going back to Boma, then after our meal on the 5th, I'll just call disney dining and cancel my ADR for the 11th.

I voted for AK EMH, because Boma is one of the best buffets in WDW and should not be missed.

You are already eating at Boma once. Why not stay at AK and do EMH? You could eat a Rainforest or take in CS at Flame Tree.

AK is my favorite park. It is beautiful in the daytime, but seeing it at night is like visiting a whole new park

Um, I vote to skip Boma. You can always eat there some other time. It's just food!
