Through my work, I participate in a mtg.(about once a week) that occurs over lunch. Frequently, they serve a boxed lunch--the most recent being cold meat sandwich, chips, pasta salad, and pie.
Today's lunch mtg. they served pizza!!
I think once since the beginning of my WISH challenge, they served a salad.
I know I could eat before I go or bring my own lunch. I know I could just eat nothing. But, it is so awkward to either bring and eat your own, say no when the boxes are distributed, and/or just sit with an empty plate.
If it's a familiar group of coworkers, I wouldn't have a problem with just bringing my own lunch. But, when you are served in an unfamiliar group--it is soooo awkward. I'm just not into "public dieting".
The other day for the boxed lunch, I scraped off the meat off the bun(messy) and ate that and wasted the rest. Today, I scraped off the meat and cheese and ate that. Then, I sat during the remainder of the 2 hour meeting with a gross piece of crust staring at me.
Then, I started feeling deprived and hungry and that's not good for any dieter.
OK, thanks for listening. What do all of you do in these situations where you have no control of the meal?
