first timer here to disney. staying at swan. have a 730 flight out and dont plan on getting to mco until about 530. if i check the bags at swan what would you recommend to do for the 5 to 6 hours?

i cannot get a car from disney car care as they are all booked and even 5 miles away they are 200 bucks for just a few hours.

I'll also say Disney Springs but if you want something different I'd do a round of mini golf at the Fantasia Gardens, head back over to Boardwalk and walk over to the Skyliner. Either just take a ride or head to Riviera and grab lunch and an afternoon cocktail.

i have nightmares about DS. i took a cruise and paid for the excursion to DS. was to be just till about 6 pm. on the way there they said since we are overnight in florida they decided the bus wont pick is up till 930! it was raining cats and dogs and theres no place to sit outside at DS except that one place where the stores are in a tunnel of sorts. and even that is just hard concrete flower planters. so i dont think i wanna see DS ever again .at least not in the rain lol. bad triggers

golf sounds like something i would do.

also word of warning: i put in a request at autoslash and was excited to get one back for 51 bucks. then fine print said could be additional charge at airport. i knew was a reason it was 150 cheaper than the rest lol

Shopping either at the resort or Disney Springs and a nice lengthy table service lunch. It all depends on how easily bored you get. I can sit and people watch and be perfectly happy, but that might not cut it for some.

Another vote for Disney Springs. We have done it many times on checkout day.... check out of hotel and leave luggage with the desk, then head to Springs for lunch and shopping. It's a nice way to end a trip.

Last trip we did disney springs but you could also resort hop and check out some of the other resorts.

Recently, we did a Skyliner tour on our last trip and took every route, stopping at resorts to shop, eat, take photos, and just walk around. My family had a 7 p.m. flight and we had an 8 p.m. flight and we found it was a good way to spend several hours.

Agree about Disney Springs too. (We didn't simply because it was a Saturday and the area was super busy when we were there but would have if it had been a weekday).

A. I second doing another park day, because you might blow a lot money more shopping/dining than doing one of the parks.

B. Sleep in, ask for a late check out (they don’t always grant it, but it’s worth a shot, and go to the pool to relax. Check your other bags with bell services and keep a small bag with you for a change of clothes. If the resort doesn’t have a set changing area by the pool, use the restroom to change.

Different idea..visit the resorts on the monorail loop and take a boat ride from outside of MK to wilderness lodge to have lunch at geyser point. You can get a bite to eat at each resort and check out what they have to explore.

Okay..here we go...

Water Park day... and you can shower and change in the water parks...

Mini Golf depending on time of year, if it hot and humid... sweaty... I personally would want to be able to clean up before a flight..

Pool Day... double check to see if showers are available at the pool.

Disney Springs for a movie and lunch before heading home...

Head back into one of the parks for last goodbye, lunch and shopping...

We have done this, it was a tip from other friends... and it worked out really great for us... so if your flight day is say on Thursday, book your room thru Friday, and it is an extra night to pay for, and just check out before you head to the airport.
The benefits a few times outweighed the cost... you have to run the numbers...and look at flight times, as well getting to the airport time frame, and being there ahead of time, hotel cost, and who's in your party, and what your are wanting to do before the flight..
Just not having to store the luggage, being able to sleep in or catch a nap before an international flight, a place to have the kids nap, if you want a pool day then its so much easier to go back to your room, then try to shower and clean up at the pool it can be done though, Kids they can watch TV... Being able to shower, and clean up before any flight is wonderful... We did this at the beach a few times, We kept our room and everyone else checked out, we stored everyone's luggage in our room, and as people had to head home, they had a place to clean up, and then head to the airport. We were the last to leave, it was nice to be able to get it together before heading to the airport... We always did this when leaving NYC as well normally had a later flight.. so we could enjoy the city longer...
It's like a transition time, to get your travel game face on...

We’ll usually add another park day in that case, it’s often just $10 or $15 each.
Pool and a meal sounds great too. Or go on a snack crawl around different resorts.

I like to visit other resort gift shops, pop over to EPCOT, or MAYBE Disney Springs.

You could easily pass a few hours resort hopping. Since you are at SWAN/Dolphin then you would have most likely already visited YC, BC, and BW. But if you have not, then you could do that. I have heard that POP has a good quick service and cheesecake so you could check that out?

But , if you have park pass and reservation is available-hit your favorite park again. To me, one more ride on FOP or Soarin would be a great wrap up to my trip.

sadly swan is booked for another nite and only park open is epcot the last day. its insane that its 88 to 94 in march. even min golf wouldnt be fun that last day. i hate the heat in PA. not looking forward to FL. i thought was hot in cancun when it was 85 in december. heat and sweating really is bottom of my list but i guess i'm stuck now..sigh . maybe global warming is true after all....i hope the short lines make up for the heat ;)

We always go to a park. Last trip we did DHS so an extra set of FP+ there!

I haven’t been to DS since it was DTD over 14 years ago. I’m not a big fan of shopping so it doesn’t really appeal to me. We all prefer an extra park day.

i can tell you i wont prefer a park day at 94 degrees for sure lol . il probably just stick in the park half day and hibernate in the hotel and come back in december. plus more things will be open then im sure

We asked for a late check out, they gave me a 12pm check out.. then we left the bags at the front went over to epcot. Just resort hopped for awhile. It was really fun and it was relaxing. We saw a lot of things everyone else talks about.
We did not want to go to the pool because I did not want wet clothes etc in my bag. Ate lunch in one of the food courts along the way :)
