We have a 5 PM reservation and have been debating about what to do afterwards. Can anybody give me an idea on how much time is taken for Chef Mickeys dinner? Debating about going back to the park, going to the Campfire sing-a-long, going to Downtown Disney, or just going back to the resort for rest. What do you all think?

What time does MK close that night? If it's pretty early, I'd avoid going back. If there's Wishes, you could find somewhere to watch Wishes... hop on the monorail and go to Poly beach or something.

If there's EMH or it's open way late, hands down- go there..

If not, go to DTD.

It takes us about and hour and a half, we don't like to rush (as long as they are running ontime). We often do to the other monerail resorts and look around, you could go play mini golf or go to DTD, but that is early enough that if the parks don't close early you could jump back over to the MK in no time.

We did Chef Mickey's on our arrival day. We didn't travel super early. Our flight was at 9:20am and our ADR was for 5:40pm. We arrived at 1pm but by the time we got the luggage and car and drove to the offsite house, it was almost 3:30. We finished up just before 7pm. The kids shopped a bit in the Contemporary shops and we took a roundtrip monorail ride. It was plenty for us. We have an 8, 6 &6 yr olds. DH and I were talking about what we liked and what we would do differently and doing nothing on arrival day was something we'd change next time. It just seemed rushed.

I think it took us about 1 1/2 hrs for dinner, maybe more (but we take our time). After dinner we rode the Monorail, walked through some of the resort gift shops and then watched the fireworks and water parade from the Poly.

We usually eat there the first night. After we typically take the monorail loop around. Sometimes we'll ride to TTC, get off and transfer to the Epcot monorail. Once we saw deer on the trip over. Very peaceful.

I don't think you make a plan. You have options and depending on weather and how the day goes choose one of those. The campfire would be easy enough to get to, boat ride out the back door of the Contemporary. You can walk back to MK if you decide you want to do that or you can also hop on the monorail to get there. DTD would be easy as well as you would just take a bus from the Contemporary.

We had brunch there and planned to go to FW for the pony rides, we took the boat over and got off at Wilderness Lodge to look around the resort. Well it started to rain as soon as we set foot in the Lodge. So we definitely were not going to ride any ponies. So plan B was created: WL game room it was loads of fun too! Once the rain cleared we went with plan C, bus to DTD for the Lego store. By then it was nap time. I think we ended up at MK that night for Wishes and Spectro.

I was thinking about asking the same thing after Chef Mickey's! You have given such great things to think about doing . That is what is so great about this Disboard I just love all the ideas and opinions everyone has because there is always someone reading who is thinking the same thing. You should all give yourselves a pat on the back for doing such a marvelous job!!!:cool1:
