I talk to a DVC rep about a DVC purchase. Now it appears I have a "guide". I didn't ask for this person to be my guide, but she is. I tried to call DVC to talk about a purchase in a resort, but they couldn't help me. I can only talk to my guide. I don't think I like the guide they gave me. Can you change guides?

You can change "guides".

Since you say that you "think" that you don't like your guide, maybe you should first call your guide and talk it over with him/her. Explain what the issues are. If you still don't want him/her, tell the guide that you don't want him/her any more. Or you can simply ask to speak to a manager and tell the manager that you want a new guide.

This is the way DVC operates. That is the guide you will have until he/she leaves Disney or you request a new one.

If you don't care for your guide and want a new one, you don't have to tell that to your guide. Just call DVC directly and ask for a manager. Then ask her/him to be assigned a new guide. You don't need a reason. You're thinking about purchasing a membership. No one should question you.

No need to go through an explanation with the one you're not too happy with.
