what to do about DD's boyfriend, not on DDP?

Pop (and many other resorts) allow 5 people in the room only if the 5th person is an infant. I'm not sure if Pop offers rollaway beds - apparently not all resorts do and I've just never asked at Pop. If they do, it is probably to accommodate a situation where people do not wish to share a bed. I can't picture where I'd safely add a rollaway to a Pop room, though.

And while I am not getting into the 'should' of the situation, what you're wanting to do is share your DDP credits. One group feels that they paid for the food, they should be able to share it with who they want. Another group says that the entitlements are listed as non-transferable, so they can't be shared. There was a recent thread where someone posted that they wrote to Disney and specifically asked about sharing a DDP meal - the response was basically that this was not allowed. How strict they are, I can't say since our first trip since the Jan 1 changes will be later this month. What you or I or anyone else defines as 'cheating' Disney doesn't matter as much as what Disney defines as 'cheating' Disney......

Either way, I hope you make it and I hope you have a great trip!

I think you are misunderstanding me.:confused3 I don't want to give away my DDP credits to him. I am just saying that suppose he orders an entree which we will pay OOP for, can I give him my appetizer or dessert that I am entitled to but really don't want. I am not trying to "cheat" disney, I am just trying to save this kid a few bucks on his meals. If I already paid for the appetizer and dessert through the plan, why does it matter who eats it??

The reason they are "concerned" with who eats it is that the intention of the DDP is to have everyone in the room get it. It an all or nothing type of plan just for the reasons you are mentioning. They don't want a 4 person plan split, with some OOP, between 5 people. They want a 4 person plan to be used by 4 people. Its Disney's plan and they get to make up the rules. As some people have said the plan isn't for everyone.

As for the room count I emphasize with your situation. Growing up i was in a family of 5 and always shared one hotel room. Today it seems that the hotels really penalize you for being a family, or in your case a group, of 5. In essence you have to double your hotel cost because of one more person. Its unfortunate but it is the rules.

And I didn't realize that Pop doesnt allow an extra person in the room, after all they offer roll away cots for an extra fee. I'll have to look into that more because if we have to get 2 rooms that will mean he cannot go (I can't afford a deluxe room.) Oh, and I did have the pin/code which is how I got a discount.

Obvious by the wording in your first post you didnt realize it and I think due that and the increasing strictness on the boards is the only reason many didnt jump to rake you over the coals on that instead of just telling you it wasnt allowed. If you can stay at one of the port orleans resorts (dont remember which) they allow 5 in a room, but you will then have to put him on the dining plan with you, as well as get him the same tickets as you. It would work out a little more expensive than just the price ofan extra room at a value but when you consider that then he would have to purchase food on top of it, it would most likely be the cheaper route, and will have everyone on the same plan.

Fyi - Disney does not allow extras in any of the rooms over the advertised limit...Roll aways are more for I have only 4 but they wont share a bed kind of situations.

As far as sharing food if you do get him his own room, As long as he is ordering a meal type food I dont see that it would be an issue to give him your desert. Mostly the thought has been if you are sharing your meal not buying someone else a whole meal it really doesnt matter. No one is really going to pay attention to or care about who eats which food as long as it is all purchased per the rules. Think about this plan though if you are eating table service everyday and a second meal, his costs will be probably atleast as much as if he was on the plan.

1 night 2 rooms at pop = 174.15 +bf's oop meal costs
1 night 1 room port orleans = 134.32 +ddp for bf = 173.32

I had forgotten the 40% Off..if you can get your reservation changed...

Sounds like 2 value rooms is your best bet. MAybe dds bf can help pay for that second room. And a grown boy should have the DDP. its a good deal:goodvibes

This has probably gone far enough. It's one of those "ask WDW directly" questions.
