What to carry at the parks?

We are going to WDW Nov 28 - Dec 9 and have two adults and two children (DS 5 and DD 9).

Any suggestions on what to take to the parks? What would you recommend that we carry vs. store in lockers?

Thanks in advance. If this is a question better suited for another forum, please let me know.

My husband and I noticed that people with no bags just sail right on into the parks. We were thinking next time we might get cargo shorts and put our camera and i.d. in the pockets. Nobody's pockets on their shorts were being checked.

This trip we carried a tote bag full of stuff. Never used the rain ponchos, or the change of clothes for our son. We did use the spray mister because of the heat. The remainder of the things in our tote related to our toddler: diapers, wipes, small toys, bibs, sippy cup.

My children are 2 and 5. I will carry a tote bag with the following -- autograph book/pen, mini M&M tube with quarters/pennies for pressing, pressed coin book, camera w/ extra batteries, wallet, hand sanitizer, my sons medications (Epi Pen Jr., Benadryl and inhaler) and each of the kids' swimsuits for fountains/water play areas along with a plastic bag to put them in after use. We will each have a long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt for the evening but those will not be in my bag.

FANNY PACKS FOR ALL!!! Well, I carry one and so does my DD 10 I have my camera, tickets, chapstick, ID, and hand sanitizer.(beats the crowd at the sinks!) I also get stuck with DH keys and wallet.

DD carries her camera and what ever else she wants to take.
My rule is if you want to bring it , you carry it!

We do the fanny packs too! My sister laughed the last time,but the first day
she carried a back pack and then used a fanny pack the rest of the trip. This time (going in march 07) my kids and I will be using fanny packs.It is way easier and hands free.

Carry as little as possible I say!! Worse comes to worse, you can buy what you need, or take a trip back to your room. We have little ones (who need diapers, sippy cups, etc) and even we are able to travel light in the parks! We carry our camera bag, and my medium sized tote bag. I like to be able to take everything with us on rides and not leave anything with the stroller. Works well for us! Oh and we've never used the lockers...just haven't needed to so far.

I carry a small bag with my keys, tickets, camera w/ extra batteries in it. I have a 2 year old so we've got a very small diaper bag with some diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer, sippy, extra clothes in it. My DH lugs his giant camera bag with him , sure glad I don't have to carry that thing.

We usually sail through pretty quickly through the check points. Sometimes I just hand the bag off to DH since he's got to stand in the line anyway.

We carry a backpack with 4 rain ponchos, our camera, our tickets, and a little cash. We only include the ponchos on days where they are calling for rain or for when we are riding Kali River Rapids. I've found the bag is handy to have for when the kids buy small items or get tired of wearing their pin lanyards.

Check out the I LOVE MY BAG!! thread campmor.com has a great deal on a columbia tour bag - $8.97! I bought two of them due to the recommendations here and I love them. They are about the size of a piece of paper and 5" deep. There is a removable cell phone holder attached, a ring holder thingie for a water bottle, and plenty of compartments. I took it on a trial run to the Ren Fest yesterday, and it worked great. I had my Kodak DX7590 camera (larger digital) in there with various other things.

For WDW, I plan to bring my camera, spray sunscreen, various first aid stuff (bandaids, motrin, asthma inhaler, DH's epipen, DS's migraine meds), antibacterial gel, handiwipes, tissues, a hand towel (for DH - don't ask ), our room keys/tix, some cash, our ID, cell phones (two, in case we split up), autograph books, pens, rain ponchos, M&M container with coins for the penny press machines, and a plastic bag to tie around the entire bag if we go on Kali or in case it rains. I think that's it.

Thank you all for your advice. It really helps to understand what we NEED at the parks since my wife is a habitual over packer
