I will be staying at a SSR in a studio few 9 days in August with DW and DD3 and was wondering, what kind of things should we bring as far as kitchen things? ie bowls, utensils, detergent? I know that there is only a kitchenette and they supply you with some things but was wondering if that stuff lasts and if it is easier to bring your own stuff. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

I don't think we've ever brought any of that kind of stuff and we always stay in studios. We always bring our own shampoo, and when you get your trash/towel they resupply your dish soap and stuff. We've always found the paper plates/plastic utensil supply to be adequate.

Enjoy your trip. 9 days sounds AWESOME!

One thing we do bring for a stay in a studio is a large mixing spoon and a rubber maid containers. We make tuna salad or tuna sandwiches when we stay in a studio. There are no large bowls for storage of food.

We have a box we keep packed for our studio trips that has glass bowls, plates, wine glasses, martini glasses and a corkscrew, real silverware and knives that actually cut. We tend to do some cooking even in the studios to save money

Thanks for the ideas! The box of things and the plastic bowls sound like good ideas! I appreciate the info!

If you're coffee drinkers, you'll need coffee filters and coffee. They only leave enough coffee for a couple of days and it's in those coffed packs. Have a great time!

We bought a picnic set at Target that has 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 cups, 4 of each fork, spoon, knife. That way we don't have to worry about using all that paper stuff. Doesn't take up much room in our baggage. Also taking a baggie with clothes detergent in it, enough for one wash. And those coffee filter packs that already have coffee in them. Since we'll mostly be eating breakfast and maybe a lunch or two we won't need much.

Thanks again, we are going to Target tonight for something totally different, but will check out the picnic set! Thanks!

We weren't real big into cooking, but did have some toast and light breakfast in the room in the AM's...I would say if you we were to bring anything, for us it would be cups. There are a few glasses (I think 4) and I think maybe 2 mugs, but I always felt like I was washing a glass out or something. I would say maybe a couple plastic cups would be helpful, but we didn't feel that bringing anything extra was really necessary.
