What to ask when renting a townhome

What are the kinds of things I need to be asking when I rent a home? This is our first time doing this and I have no clue what to be asking. I want to make sure that when we get down there, there is a home and it is not in forclosure.

You can do a lot of checking on the local county tax websites to be sure that they own the property, as well as other resources to let you know if they are in foreclosure. If you are worried about that sort of thing, you may want to go through a management company (All Star Vacation Homes) for the peace of mind that they offer. Or otherwise, look at some rental homes that have a lot of business (and referrals) on this board (ie: Storytime, 5min2Disney, etc).

It can feel a bit risky to go this route, but we just did it and it made for a wonderful vacation. Best of luck
