What tip left when no T+T?

We never tip for T&T day because we never need T&T day. We take out our own trash and we wash the towels daily. We always leave a tip on check out day. The way we see it, the tip is for the person that has to come in and get the room ready for the DVC'ers that stay after us. I guess it's just a matter of opinion. :confused3
That's the way we do it too.

I ALWAYS tip at the end of the stay. House/mousekeepers do not make alot of money. Many of them have family to support and they RELY on tips. They spend their work day cleaning up after other people.I know many people don't agree on this so I'm speaking for my own personal opinion, they deserve some gratuity for their job. :rolleyes1
I am wondering how anyone knows how much the mousekeepers make and why is it assumed to be so low? Disney does not include mousekeeping on its list of CM that are in a tippable position. I'm sure if Disney felt mousekeeping needed to supplement the salary Disney would have included them in the list.
That being said I do tip on check out day and would tip if I required extra service like clean up after sickness or accident.

The thread that I have a link to above says that housekeeping people are hired at :

Housekeeping. $6.80 +.35 pream

Don't know the abbreviation, but that is not a lot of money.

Hi, I don't know what the source was. There seemed to be a job fair. Some of the people responding to the thread are or were CM and all seemed to agree that those were the wages. DH has inquired about a p/t job with Disney upon retirement and yes, he would be making below $9. He did some soul searching, how much magic can you convey while making those wages, and decided that he could. However, our '07 plans to retire seem to be pushed back to 2010, and maybe at that point, he won't be interested in work. We'll see.
