What time to secure VQ for second WOC show?

We arrive at DLR in about 4 weeks and I assume two showings of WOC wi be happening most nights in summer. What time do you guys try to pull virtual Q for the second show? I assume they still assign the first show right away at noon and then go to second show when the first runs out? Do you wait until second one pops up?

I wanted the second show on May 29. Repeatedly booked and cancelled the first show until the second show appeared at 12:40
The second show was almost empty. CMs did not even check for virtual queue passes.

Nice to know. I'll be there in a few weeks, and for VQ prefer the 2nd show just for the simple fact that it is less people.

VQ is needed for world of color ??
i am use to disneyworld where we only have VQ for two rides and you can’t get both on the same day unless you pay extra.
This will be our first trip to Disneyland (nov 4-11) is there a good tip book I could get that has accurate info (I am a Florida CM and DVC owner)

VQ is needed for world of color ??
i am use to disneyworld where we only have VQ for two rides and you can’t get both on the same day unless you pay extra.

VQ is needed, but it is NOT the same as a paid ILL or any paid system. VQ is free for WOC and reservations are made in the app starting at noon for the first show daily.

Is it the only VQ for Disneyland. We will be there for the week but would like to see the show along with all fireworks/parades that are offered

Depending on crowds, you may be able to get a spot for WOC without the VQ. But I have heard that is easier for the second showing than it is the first. Second showing usually has a lot more open space.

There is also the WOC Dessert Party if you want treats AND a seat.
