What time to leave DHS to make 5:30 Cape May ADR?

We wanted to get the Fantasmic Dinner Package, but when we couldn't we decided to just eat dinner out of DHS - none of the restaurants there thrill me, but I would totally eat there for a Fantasmic Dinner Package. Anyway, I made a 5:30 ADR at Cape May....what time do you think we need to leave the studios to get to the dinner? I am excited about trying Cape May - we have never eaten there & I have wanted to for years!

I would leave about 4:45 to be sure you have enough time to make it to the Beach Club for the 5:30 ADR. Cape May opens for dinner at 5:30 so you will be in the first groups seated.

The boat to Beach Club/Boardwalk area is the easiest way but you may have to wait a few minutes and then it's about a 10-15 minute ride, with a few stops. The other option is walking on the Boardwalk path along the water but that takes longer and could be a hike for some.

We ate at Cape May in August and had a very good experience. If you did get there early, you can always walk around or wait in the Beach Club lobby.

if you don't mind the walk, you can hoof it at a fast pace in about 20 min.

we have hoofed it before in twenty minutes like the previous poster said and it was cold that night so we hoofed it fast......but if you see the boat then take the boat and try to get to your reservation so you can sit a few before the time arrives..

I would walk out of DHS around 4:30 (maybe 4:45). Look down at the boat dock, if a Friendship is there, or you can see it coming and the line isn't horrible, take the Friendship. If the boat isn't there, take the path and walk. When you get to the Atlantic Dance Hall, take the bridge to the right towards the S&D.

Actual travel time will be almost the same, only major difference is the waiting for the boat.
