What time to book Blue Bayou for dining package?

Dining reservations for our Disneyland day open tomorrow, Friday 5/3. My friend (her first time at DLR!) wants to do one table service meal and see Fantasmic, so I thought I should book Blue Bayou in the hopes of being able to upgrade to a Fantasmic dining package at the restaurant (since separate dining packages haven’t been released yet).

What time would be best to book Blue Bayou for lunch or dinner if we want to see the first Fantasmic show? I’ve heard something about later seatings only having a package for the second show available? A 6 pm seating would work best with our schedule but we can be flexible. I watched reservations for 7/1 appear and then get snatched up in 15 minutes this morning so I’d like to grab something just in case! Thanks!

6AM PST or if on East Coast 9AM reservations open. I would book whatever time you wanted for dinner and then see if dining packages open up. Yes reservations for BB do not last for 30 minutes!

I don't know if this is the correct way to do it, but I grabbed an 11am (the first) lunch reservation in hopes that if they offer the Fantasmic dining package, they won't be gone by the time a later reservation time rolls around. I'm east coast and got on right at 9am EST and had no issues picking from any reservation time for BB. Hopefully they announce dining packages soon. We were planning on eating at BB anyway...but the Fantasmic package would be awesome.

11AM is a good time for BB. Get there early and check-in youll get a waterside table.

Is it still possible to upgrade to the dining package with a reservation at Blue bayou? We have an 11 AM reservation so should be some of the first seated.

Wrote this in a couple other places but I'm confused. is there no dinner packages for Fantasmic with Blue Bayou? I see an option for lunch and this is when the reservation first opens for Dec 8 in this case, but only see lunch and only if I pick 3 or more people. Two people Blue Bayou isn't listed. Heck it isn't even listed standalone without the package.

You might not be seeing it because it might be booked already. Dining reservations are open 60 days out at 6 AM. Go to the fantastic dining reservations section if you don’t see it it’s already been taken.

I would say it was maybe a minute after 6:00AM because I booked something else today. Are we thinking that they limit table selection by party size? So if I have 2 people they have small tables for two and if I pick 3 it's a four person table? I've been debating on booking for 3 and changing it to 2 but looks like you have to pick the timeslot again which will probably be an issue. Someone at disney suggested selecting 3 but they couldn't tell me if I'd be charged for 3 or could change it to 2 when I'm there and checking into the restaurant.

Also a minute into reservations, hard to think all the dinner slots for Fantasmic were booked already and only lunch was available. Know it's popular but didn't have that issue in August when I booked for another trip.

They are making it nearly impossible for groups of less than 3 to book table service. My advice is book as a party of 3 and then when you check in let them know that it will only be 2. As of right now there is no penalty for showing up with less people than you made the reservation for. I unfortunately expect that this will change in the future. :(
