What time should dinner be to catch parade?

I booked dinner at Carnation Cafe for 5:30 on Tuesday, August 3rd in hopes of catching the parade...is that going to work? Should it be earlier/later?

I believe the parade is at 6:30, but I'm not sure if it'll start at Main St. or IASW. It alternates. Also, there are very few tables along the front and there will be people standing between you and the parade.

Hmmm...thanks for the info! I think we'll still with our 5:30 reservation then and if we catch part of it great, and if not then we'll make sure we catch it another day.

Does anyone have a favorite spot to watch the parade from? We're there for 5 days, surely we'll catch it at least once! That being said, there are 2 parades, right? One in DL and one in DCA?

When you say, "Catch the parade" do you mean watch the parade while eating or do you mean finish dinner and then move onto Main Street to watch the parade?

If you mean the first, it won't really work. There are LOTS of people watching the parade, CMs working, and people walking along Main Street that will be between you and the parade. On top of that the tables at CC are not really positioned right to watch the parade while eating. I would not suggest it if you REALLY want to see the parade If you just want to catch a glimpse and hear the parade, it's perfect!

I'm not sure what I meant, lol. I think either would work though--catch the sounds/vibe of it while we eat, or move onto Main Street to watch.
