What time of year to visit.

I wanting to plan a trip to Disneyland for my wife and son's birthday. August 28th 24th. What are the best time to visit Disneyland. We've been to DW many times and have the times of year figured out.
Would Disneyland be the same and do they have a crowd calender for Disneyland?
I don't like crowds.

I would recommend going over to the main Disneyland board here on the DIS there are lots of great tips.
