What time is too early to wake-up?

I'm always up early when we're on vacation at WDW. Lat summer we stayed at the Poly for the 4th of Julyweek. I was up at sunrise & took some awesome shots from the balcony of our lagoon view room. I'd get out & walk the resort property (which was empty except for a few joggers) & took some great photos, felt like I had the place to myself. I even walked over to the GF to check things out. When I got back to the room the DW & DD were still sleeping , so I got changed & took an early morning dip in the Volcano pool. I get very little sleep while on vaction, some would think thats not too relaxing but different strokes I guess.

My family feels the same way. We don't waste much of our time sleeping too much when we're at Disney. We can sleep at home.

I usually get up around 5:30 and do laundry while my family sleeps. Once I ran into my cousin at the Contemporary laundry room at 5:00 a.m. I didn't know that he was at WDW.

I had the same thing happen!! :rotfl: I was at the pool at POR and someone called out my name and it was my cousin! I had no idea she was staying there too! It was weird :tilt:

As others have stated, as long as you are respectful of others.....get up when ever you want to. I get up around 5:00 and get the paper and relax at the pool with coffee. I simply love watching WDW "wake up"!

:goodvibes That's so funny.

I'm usually the first one up and at times its been around 5:00. If we are doing Early Entry at 8:00 we want to be at the bus stop by 7:15 and if we are having breakfast at the food court first, well, we need to get up that early. A couple times we did EE at MK when they opened at 8:00, therefore EE was at 7:00 and we left our hotel by 6:15...again, we were up early that day.

I agree, I don't think there is a set time to get up, or go to bed. Each to his own, and as previously stated just be respectful that others are probably still asleep. In fact I try very hard to be as quiet as possible all the time, as you never know if someone next door is napping, or children napping etc.

Common courtesy, quiet voices, no slamming doors, low volume on the TV etc.

Just remember to please cut the alarm off and not let it beep, beep, beep :rotfl:

Exactly! As a matter of fact, as soon as we entered the hallway at CR, my DD4 would remind us to be "extra quiet...there might be babies sleeping." We are very respectful about our noise level at hotels...at ANY hour of the day.

I think folks should get up whenever they like. However, if you do get up really early, say 4-6 a.m. - I think it would be a nice thing to do to try to be extra quiet so as not to disturb the other guests. Don't blare the tv, let the kids scream, beat and bang, etc. We usually get up between 6-7.

I wake early - around 6 a.m. - however the rest of my family sleeps in for a while longer. I do this so I can shower and have some "quiet time" before everyone is up. I get everyones clothes ready for the day, and items packed (camera, tickets, sunglasses, etc), then I turn on the TV low, and wake everyone up. This way mom is ready first, and is able to get the kids ready while DH showers in peace. It also avoids the, "Mom, are you ready yet", questions, LOL.

I find in the beginning of our vacations I wake up early - sometimes before daylight. I like to walk around the WL while its waking up.
Towards the end of vaca Im too tired to wake up early!

I always get up early on vacation!!! I love strolling around the resort while others are sleeping. It's a nice way to begin a hectic day.

Wow what a considerate group. I also get up real early and am so glad to hear I am not the only one...We also are very quiet and keep TV low and voices down. I hope some of you are our neighbors on our upcoming trip in July... :sunny: :sunny:

:earseek: We must be in the minority here! To us, yes, it's WDW, but it's also our vacation...no way do we get up early. In May, when the hours are later in the evenings, we usually don't get back to the resort until about 10 pm and then shower, maybe watch a little (quiet) tv (to see the weather, news, etc.) and then go to sleep around 11. We probably get up around 8:30...well, I get up around 7:30 or 8, then get DH and DS9 up. We love WDW, but also love having ONE WEEK out of the year when we do not have to rush around. By now, we know we'll always be coming back to WDW, so don't worry about missing anything...there's always next time.

Someone on another thread complained about the people in the next room getting up at 4AM to start getting ready for parks that don't open for another 4 hours. I will admit that there have been times that I have gotten up around 5AM to take a leisurely uninterrupted shower check over details for that days schedule maybe read a tour-gude book (for the umpteenth time!) etc. Myself and several of my kids are usually out of the door by 8AM at the latest to walk to the bus stop get on the bus to the parks and join the masses for the pre-opening show. We might leave earlier if we have ps for breakfast. So what time is too early to start getting up? :confused3

Due to the time diference (we are form the UK) 4am is not an uncommon time to wake up on the first morning.
So we are ready and waiting for the parks to open and completly had it by 1pm. :rotfl:

I guess I must be in the minority as well. We don't like to get up early either. I have even made the mistake of making PS's earlier in the morning, only to sleep right through them.

I am excited about the EMH in the evenings now. We are definately a night owl family and will take advantage of those hours much more than in the morning. Then sleep in.

the days that we went to the parks last week we had a mickey wake up call at 6:00 am,ate at the food court at POR at 7:00am,at the parks by 8:00am.

We don't do mornings, esp not on vacation. Course, we don't have children yet and I know most children do mornings =) We're good if we get up and going by 10am, course we stay out late.

I think you should get up whenever you want, just be quiet out of respect for others around you. On that same note, I try to be quiet anytime I'm walking the halls of the hotel, esp for those trying to get in afternoon naps for themselves or young children =)

I'm with the people on page 2! I can sleep at home, while I'm at WDW, I'm out late and up early. I can't stand sleeping my time away. Now if I could only get my wife to go along with that!! ;)

No matter what time we get up it will be early for us, 8am there is like 5am here, and we need to get earlier than that, the first few days should be lots of fun.

The last time we stayed at a Disney resort, the people above us let their kids run around screeming just outside the rooms for a long time very early in the morning. The kids yelled out, "We're going to Disney! We're Going to Disney today!"
None of us had the heart to yell at the kids though, because they were just expressing their excitement, and it was kind of endearing in a way, because of their mistake (we were on property already). Who would want to ruin the magic of their first day? The parents, however, were pretty rude to allow this to go for so long.
