What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

How great that you and Cynthia got to meet! You are both lovely people so I imagine you had a great time together :goodvibes

I love your pool photos from your relaxation day, they are so pretty. I've heard a lot of great things about Olivia's lately, it looks like a cute little place with delicious food.

The sky really got dark quick! Gotta love that afternoon Florida rain!

You guys are so funny! This last update with the silly mirror photos, napkin tucked under the chin, waving the table number and all.. you guys are a hoot!!

I had to be sure he didn't get chocolate on that brand new white t-shirt. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That's awesome that you had a custom bat ordered for your HEAD COACH son!!

I wanted to do something special and this seemed to bbe the best thing.

That huge Mickey Krispie treat I'd love to have right now.... it may not even have a chance to get stale. I suppose I should get myself some breakfast!

It's a good thing I don't like Rice Krispie treats.

Happy Friday to you. :)

I hope you had a good Friday and weekend.

Ooops! edited post since not paying attention!

What did you edit? I guess I wasn't paying attention either. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I can't wait till we can meet up in December!! You guys are having so much fun! You can just tell from the pictures!!

Thanks, Tam; looking forward to meeting you too.

I had been thinking about heading out to the outlet. I don't know if there will be enough time... seems like everyday is packed to its fullest. I think I need to add another week to our vacation! :lmao:

I wouldn't bother; the selection was not good and you'll want to be at the parks.

Again, I LOVE the shirts. I wish I could find one like Mark's shirt for Jon. I know he would sooo wear that!!!

We got those shirts at the big store at Downtown Disney.

I have to giggle. That seems like one long wet day! :rotfl: Of course all the drinks looked yummy, so I am sure the rain wouldn't have bothered me too much! :lmao:

It was a very rainy day; and a good cocktail always helps on a rainy day.

DTD is such a fun place. Last trip I almost didn't plan anytime at DTD. I was super glad we did. It started a new obsession for Gavin... LEGO! Until that time he showed no interest... well, now that is where all his extra money goes... or should I say all MY extra money??? :rotfl2:

It's a great Lego store, but I can see it turning into an obsession. We know where his money will definitely go. :)

Between the pool and DTD, it looks like a lovely relaxing Disney day (despite the rain).

It really was, Nory; and a much needed one with the heat this trip.

I've only been to EOS once, I never seem to have time to get back to DTD and have it again, even though it was delicious. (I'm on a stupid still-have-30-pounds-of-baby-weight diet lately, so I'm really drooling over all food pics!)

We love EOS; I know there are a few at airports, etc., but sure wish they'd open one here.

Sorry the outlet didn't work out for you this time, but at least you found some good stuff at DTD. The bat sounds like the perfect gift.

Andy was very pleased with his bat.

I love DTD and shopping:rotfl2: and eating:rotfl2: and stopping for a cocktail:rotfl2:. Sounds like a fun way to end your relaxing day.

It was the perfect way to end the day, Judy.

Kathy your posts just make me smile :)
You two always look like you are having so much fun together - you are certainly a match made in heaven

Awww...thank you, Linda.

OMG the mirror pictures are WAY TOO FUNNY! Mark has puffy knee pads on!
:rotfl2: :lmao:
way too funny...

I am glad I gave you a good laugh, Mo. :)

Umm i totally get the I WILL NOT WORK today.. I am in the same rut here.
hence my 32 updates on mine! LOL :goodvibes

Seriously, I was just so unmotivated on Friday.

So sweet of you to get the engraved bat. What a treasured gift for your son!

He's a good son and always took care of Cookie for us while we are gone so he needed something a little more special this trip.

That ice cream looks good! :)

Mark really liked his and you can't ruin a hot fudge sundae.

Cool that you made some new friends to laugh with in the rain. :thumbsup2

We really had a good time with our new friends...it helped pass the time of the rain.

What a beautiful morning in the parks. I envy you, we never are up early enough to make it to the opening show.

I like to try to make the MK opening show at least once a trip. It just gives me an extra magical feeling.

Can't wait for more!

Oh, and btw - I had the same feeling about work today. Unfortunately the pupils needed some attention, but at least my weekend has already started. :thumbsup2

Darn pupils! :lmao::lmao:

I finally got back to catch up. I won't comment on it all, just say that I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the TR and especially Mark's surprise! :goodvibes

Thanks, Stephanie; it's good to have you back.

hmm a fireman instead of the mayor, wonder if he subs in when the mayor is out making rules for main street.

I thought that was a little odd too. :confused3

and did you find splitsville better for older kids? or would our little ones do good eating there and bowling?

Dan, I won't swear by this, but if I remember correctly, of the two groups we saw bowling, they had bumpers on one of the lanes. I would say it is suitable for kids.

Ok, I know the secret... if I suggest it on Facebook, another installment of this awesome TR magically appears!! I'll have to keep that in mind! LOL

You are too funny! I wonder if Mary is wondering if she suggests on FB that I start the PTR I'll get to it (actually, I may get it started after dinner tonight.

I didn't think they did the welcome show on days with EMH! I will have to keep that in mind!!! See, I am always learning new things from you!!! Thanks!!!

My pleasure, friend.

I am all caught up. I was away visiting a DIS friend for a week. We met here on the boards and have become very good friends. No pics as I don't count it as a meet. She stayed with me last year and we have traveled to Disney together for the past 3 years.

Oh, I hope you had a great time!

Sorry about Cookie. I lost my Nikki on Aug 31st and I still go to sneak her treats. I had the chance to get another puppy this week but have no one to take her for 9 days while I go to Disney in December so I guess it isn't meant to be yet.

Thank you. I'm so sorry to hear bout your Nikki. It's so hard to lose a "family" member.

Good news about Mark and the job. I know it isn't ideal but some pay is better than no pay.

It is better than nothing for sure.

The anniversary dinner looked awesome. I understanding not wanting to sit near that family. We had an anniversary dinner at LTT a few years ago and had the most obnoxious family near us. They let their precious little snowflakes do whatever they wanted. I know it's more of a family restaurant but that doesn't mean you can't teach your children manners. I took my kids out of restaurants more than once til they learned proper behavior.

I know children are excited and probably sleep deprived too...they are at Disney. But I agree...manners should be in use when out in public like that.

OKW looks like fun. I had that on my list of choices for December but got SSR. It's still Disney so I'm happy.

We love OKW.

I have never taken a leisure day in Disney. I have tried but after 15 minutes I need to get moving again. I do unwind if the parks are closed though, does that count? I am hoping to explore DTD this trip though. I never seem to find the time.

I know a lot of people like that. We used to be like that too; but having been so many times and being older, it is easier for us to take a leisure day. There is so much to see and do at DTD...you should make the time.

I have never in all my Disney trips seen the opening show at MK. I may try this trip since my DH has decided he doesn't want his early Christmas gift. I was going to take him on the steam engine tour. Of course he told me he doesn't want to do it to late to get an ADR for CP. Oh well I'll just need to go again.

Your husband turned down the steam engine tour? I am shocked...you would think any man would love that.

OK all caught up.

I'm glad you are caught up again.

Love this picture. If Hollywood ever does a sequel to Easy Rider I'm sure Mark would be even better than Peter Fonda was in the original... He has the look. ;)

I think Mark would have to lose a few pounds first. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As for the Mickey Krispy; there was a day I could hammer that thing down without leaving a crumb for the birds...:lmao: (you think I'm kidding, LOL)

I don't how anyone can eat those things to begin with.

Catching up after my marathon work week.

I'm so glad that week is over for you, Maryellen.

So cool that you got to meet Cynthia. Great picture of the two of you. :thumbsup2

Thank you; Cynthia is simply wonderful and I can see why you two enjoy your girls trips together.

Fun evening in DTD. I always enjoy striking up a conversation with total strangers. It's a lot of fun. Glad you made some new friends.

They made us not care that it was raining...they were so much fun.

Love the T-shirts you two were wearing. Very nice!

Aren't they great? When I saw them I knew we had to have them.

EMH and you still made it to the Opening show. Strong work!

I try. :)

What a sweet anniversary surprise.

Thanks.

Wow!! You did have some rain that day.

We had a lot of rain.

LOVE Earl of Sandwich!!! Their BLT is my favorite! I wish there was one Downtown. Closest to us is in the Detroit airport. Don't see that happening too soon! ;)

Detroit is our closest one? We need to petition to get one closer.

The photo of Mark with his napkin bib cracked me up. And all I could think of was "he's wearing a white shirt and eating chocolate--recipe for disaster around here"! :rotfl:

And hence the reason for the napkin bib.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was also very disappointed with the Disney outlets. We went to both of them on the girls' trip and I came away with zip! DD found a nice little backpack for use in the parks for $12, though.

Huge disappointment. Glad your DD found something.

So sad you are already down to your last full day. Good thing you have another trip coming soon to keep us all entertained further.

Yes, our last full day. But plenty more to report and hope to get the PTR started tonight.

I love your TShirts!!

Thank you...they were so fun we had to have them.

Sounds like you had a great time in DTD in spite of the rain.

We did...it was fun meeting some strangers and having a good laugh.

We usually head over to the Premium Outlets at least once on our trips. Character Outlets are pretty much hit or miss! I was at the one in St. Augustine a couple of weeks ago and walked out without buying a thing, which is pretty much unheard of ;)

I had luck in Estero while we were on Marco, but not much. :(

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun at Downtown Disney, even with the rain! I'm pretty sure we had to buy ponchos last time we were there. You'd think living in FL I would have been more prepared :rolleyes1

I had the ponchos in my bag and we did put them on after we met our stranger friends.

I missed updates 2, 3, and 4! Oh my, I can relate to not feeling like paying attention to the pile of stuff on my desk and Dis'ing instead. But lucky us!

I was going to text you and tell you after you responded to 1 to hold off as I was doing a couple of more. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The rain worked out well at the bar at RR - sounds like a fabulous time. Laughs, drinks, and staying dry. :) Of course I laugh more when I drink. Speaking of drinking - nice pina colada there at the resort! One of my favorites.

I'll let you in on a little secret...I laugh more when I drink too. It was a very tasty pina colada (not as good at Yachstman though)

Looks like Mark has selected his Christmas present at the Harley store. Not the bike, a hat!! :lmao: Michael would love a Harley. Oh dear!

Just from chatting with Michael on FB, I think I'd be keeping him away from a Harley. ;)

An orderly stroll down Main Street at rope drop?? I never see that. I see the running of the bulls occurring. ;)

It was a definitely first for us.

Ignore Michael's Packer references on FB! He's like 5 right now. :o

He and my husband would get along great!

Enjoy.

Thanks for the hug. Right back at ya.

Loved all of your updates yesterday Kathy... No Dising for me - I was too busy at the MOA with the girls...

Hey, we have to have our priorities...shopping is definitely one of mine.

We love DTD too!!! It's so much fun - unfortunately - your DTD day looks a LOT like our DTD day... Sigh... We also had to enjoy Ghiradelli in the rain - however - Ghiradelli in the rain is much better than no Ghiradelli at all. :thumbsup2

Seriously, I don't know what was up with the rain. Glad you got to Ghiradelli too.

How fun to have a great time with perfect strangers - that's what I love most about Disney - Magic seems to happen at the oddest times. Glad you enjoyed yourselves though.

I agree, D. It can happen anywhere while you are DW.

We have never once done EMH - mostly because we never ever do park hoppers... I might splurge on our next trip though - I think, the way the girls and I tour - we'd really benefit from taking advantage of EMHs - and since we almost always take a mid-day break... Well, I might just do that.

Personally, I must have my park hoppers (well, now I have an AP so it doesn't matter). It's very rare that we spend an entire day at one specific park.

And what a wonderful and heartfelt gift from Brenda and family.

It was very sweet of Brenda and Michael. :)

I hope you have a great weekend!

D~

It was a nice weekend (fundraiser last night, shopping today and some relaxation).

Don't you just love it when you meet strangers like that and they make the time so memorable.

It's so fun, Jen, and these people were great.

Loved "walking around DTD with you"...great pics! Isn't that bailey's shake to die for! Always fun to share a table with new friends when you're in the world...and you definitely know how to turn a rainy day into a sunshiny day!!!

Queen, I'm glad you enjoyed our walk. I love that Bailey's Shake and must have one every trip or I get really crabby. :rotfl2: They felt like they were intruding, but they were so charming and funny and we had a blast with them.

updates galore :thumbsup2 you are on a roll my friend!

Must get this done. Do you know that Thanksgiving is only six weeks away. Where the heck did the time go?

sorry you didn't find anything at the outlets, they just opened up one at our's, haven't checked it out yet though!

We're going to a new outlet next week...maybe we'll find some stuff there.

despite the rain looks like you had a fun time at DTD and made some new friends too! EoS is our FAVORITE place to eat at DTD :goodvibes

It's getting hard to pick a favorite at DTD. We love EOS, ,but we also love WPE.

sweet surprise from Tim, Mel and the kids! and yumminess from Brenda and her DH :)

It was very sweet of Tim and Mel and family, and very sweet of Brenda and Michael too.

I am really enjoying your report. I just wanred you to know I was reading even if not posting.:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for posting and letting me know you are enjoying. :)

Great updates!

Thank you.

Yay for DISmeets! We must do dinner soon.

That would be nice.

Love the bat idea for Andy! Awesome!!

Thanks; he was very pleased. He put it in a case and it is now hanging in his office at school.

I need one of those Bailey shakes. Yum!

I could go for one right about now myself.

Love all of your pictures, what a great trip.

Hope your weekend is going great. :)

Thanks; it was a great trip, and weekend was very nice; hope you had a good one too.

Well I did tell Kathy I'd thought of her when I went to get my 2nd cup of the day :lmao::lmao:

And I told Cynthia I had two that day too.

Generally by lunch I am done...Can't speak for Kathy! But if you stop by my thread you'll see the lovely, thoughtful coffee related gift she gave me. :thumbsup2 I adore it!

I usually half one after lunch as well...but I do 1/2 caff.

It was so lovely! As is Kathy :goodvibes

You too, Cynthia.

It was awesome, going back to work, not so much.

I couldn't function on work; I kept thinking about our fun time.

Is that the same as the D23 exhibit? I was lucky enough to see it on Thursday night, my work event had the whole museum for the evening. VERY fun! It was like a mini Disney Family Museum + OMD + Animators Academy and then toss in some very cool actual costumes from some of the movies.

It could be...it's here until mid-May.

It was a fun spot for lunch and seriously yummy food on top of amazing company!

The food was yummy (although mine was a tad to spicy).

:wave2: Kathy & Mark I too enjoyed walking with you at DTD LOVE the Harley picture with Mark What a sweet Mickey 30th anniversary gift from your friends discovered in your room Don't think I said it before but congratulations to your DS for the coaching job awesome gift you two got him to celebrate it You know since you left we have not had much rain at all :rotfl: :duck:

Thank you, Ruthie. It was so sweet of Tim and his family. Thanks; he's such a great coach and I knew his day would come to be a head Varsity coach. Can you be sure we don't have rain the first week of December when we are there?

How great that you and Cynthia got to meet! You are both lovely people so I imagine you had a great time together :goodvibes

It was a lovely meet; Cynthia is delightful, charming, funny and beautiful.

I love your pool photos from your relaxation day, they are so pretty. I've heard a lot of great things about Olivia's lately, it looks like a cute little place with delicious food.

Thanks; it's a great pool. We really like the different selections at Olivia's and highly recommend it.

The sky really got dark quick! Gotta love that afternoon Florida rain!

We are used to it every once in awhile, but it was like this rain never went away this past trip.

All caught up on your last updates!! That's a fantastic way to spend a Friday at work!! :-)

That's a real bummer shopping at the outlet was unsuccessful...BUT Downtown Disney is a great way to end the day!! Loved the pictures of you both being silly in the mirror!! And the ones on the Winnie the Pooh bench!

Both of your treats at Ghiradelli look delightful!

The new bowling alley looks really neat! Never been in there so it's nice to see some pictures!!!

Oh my goodness that Bailey's Shake is amazinggg! I seriously could have had one (or a few) everyday! Soooo good!

And nothing better than enjoying your drinks with some fun new people! It sounds like you all had a great time while keeping dry!!

Wow! Last full day in the parks already?!? They went by so quickly!

We have never, in my memory, seen the welcome show at Magic Kingdom....But I'm making it a mission for next trip!! Glad you got to see it!! :-)

I have another update to catch up on, but I'll comment on your day of relaxation (in which you really did quite a lot)

Looks like a lovely breakfast at Olivia's. The atmosphere and the food both look incredible.

Old Key West is such a pretty resort with great theming. We visited once (passing thru)- When we are at DTD, returning to the Beach Club, we actually like to take one of the boats to a DTD resort, then a bus to EPCOT and play there for a bit. We took the boat ride over to OKW and it was just lovely!!!

Laundry and Pool, a great combination, especially when you add in a Turtle Krawl. YUM!!! I can't remember, is that drink available at Vero, or any other Disney places, or just OKW?

Sorry you didn't find anything interesting at the outlets, but what a score at DTD. What a thoughtful and meaningful gift to recognize your son's accomplishment!

What fun pictures at DTD.

You know that sea serpent in the water outside of the Disney Store? I'm pretty sure I'm the one who paid for that with all the money I have spent purchasing Lego sets for my two boys!

Bailey's Shake??? Are you kidding me? Genius!

What an awesome meet with Cynthia this week!!! So glad to hear the two of you got together. What a nice picture.

Seeing as though we live close to each other, we should work out a local DISmeet sometime. :thumbsup2

I'm very glad to hear about Mark and his job. I'm glad that it's worked out so far.

Good looking out asking to wait to sit in a different place. Sitting by that loud group would have not been fun, especially for an anniversary dinner. Jason and Jeni (and the rest of us for that matter) NEVER let Joaquin and Gavin behave like crazies in a restaurant. We reserve that for alone time. :lmao:

The Yachtsman filet is my favorite filet on Disney property. So so good.

Getting to see Em and Brenda again is pretty cool.

Hats! Oh, and fancy ears!

We had a full blown relaxation day on the last trip too, because it was 10 days long. They're such a great way to recharge.

I'm sorry the Character Outlet was a disappointment. We were planning on having a visit this upcoming trip. We typically don't go, but since we're driving in January, I figured it would be a good opportunity.

Hahaha! My Dad needs a bib too! All the time. That's so cute.

We were also tossing around the idea of going to Splitsville too in January. My Dad loves to bowl, and I think he would have a great time.

How nice the gifts you received from Tim and his family and from Brenda and hers. Our Disney community is amazing.

We love the morning EMH, too! Like you said, you get a lot done in that first hour and then you are ahead of the crowd for at least 2-3 hours more.

Beautiful pictures from the ferry! I don't even know how many years it has been since we have done that!

Great pictures of the characters in the opening show. Nice close-ups.

Where are you going??? Hmmm... Only Tomorrowland and the Fantastylands are open at that time, right? I'm going with Peter Pan.

hmm a fireman instead of the mayor, wonder if he subs in when the mayor is out making rules for main street.

I'm guessing this had something to do with the Government Shutdown- the mayor was unavailable, but since the Fire Chief is considered essential, he was able to be there.

Great updates Kathy. Great gift for your son. What a great idea. We have not eaten at Earl in quite a while now. We really need to get back there. We just tried Raglan Road for the first time for dinner and it was very good.

Too bad about the shopping and the Disney store! I love the Mickey's pantry store. I can go crazy with the spices and teas. It makes a nice gift for someone also.

Oh no...more rain????

We did stop at Starbucks after and got a drink

 :faint:

As many of you know, Andy was appointed the Head Varsity Baseball coach of a local high school in July of this year. As he was the one home taking care of Cookie and the fact that we were very proud of him for getting this job at the age of 27, we bought him a baseball bat and Coach Andy Schultz and his school name were engraved on it (when he got it later that week he called because he absolutely loved it!).

Cool idea!:thumbsup2

How about here?

Mmmm...EoS...now I'm hungry.

And we decided to be silly:

Wouldn't expect anything less.:thumbsup2

Unfortunately, due to the rain and wind, our hopes of finally going up in the balloon were dashed again.

I keep getting stopped from going up in the balloon too. Someday...

We went in here and it was really neat. This is definitely something we would want to do when the kids go with us...they love to bowl:

Splitsville looks like fun. So does the dine-in theater.

So, of course, we welcomed. And for the next 45 minutes we never laughed so hard. These three wonderful people were in town for a conference and came to DTD to have drinks before meeting co-workers for dinner. Well, since it was pouring, they couldn't very well leave, so they decided to stay and drink some more. Two of them were from Atlanta and one was from England and they just had us :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Always nice to have some spontaneous fun. You can be thankful for the rain!

We walked back to the room and we found we had a surprise on our bed:

It was a gift from my very first real DIS friend, Tim (that's nice) and his family:

Thank you again, Tim, Mel, Juliana, Christopher and Gabriella for the 30th Anniversary gift. That was very sweet of you. And "that's nice." :goodvibes Love you guys.

Awesome!!

All caught up on your last updates!! That's a fantastic way to spend a Friday at work!! :-)

It was; it was just one of those days that I just couldn't get into doing the filing. ;)

That's a real bummer shopping at the outlet was unsuccessful...BUT Downtown Disney is a great way to end the day!! Loved the pictures of you both being silly in the mirror!! And the ones on the Winnie the Pooh bench!

It was...I've never left that store without at least one purchase. We've been doing that Winnie the Pooh shot since the kids were little.

Both of your treats at Ghiradelli look delightful!

They were yummy.

The new bowling alley looks really neat! Never been in there so it's nice to see some pictures!!!

It was really neat in there, and we can't wait to try it.

Oh my goodness that Bailey's Shake is amazinggg! I seriously could have had one (or a few) everyday! Soooo good!

I totally agree with you...amazing!

And nothing better than enjoying your drinks with some fun new people! It sounds like you all had a great time while keeping dry!!

We did; they were great fun and told some wonederful stories of their meetings and their "after meeting" time.

Wow! Last full day in the parks already?!? They went by so quickly!

It did...the trip and I've done well on keeping this thing going.

We have never, in my memory, seen the welcome show at Magic Kingdom....But I'm making it a mission for next trip!! Glad you got to see it!! :-)

We try to see it once a trip; it doesn't always happen, but we try.

well I know I am :thumbsup2 already been over there to say

I saw you were there...thanks for following.

I missed counted the other day, thought I still had six weeks until we left, then a friend told me um no only 5 weeks, need to get stuff done for the trip and get started on some Christmas stuff too

You better get to work, my friend.

I have another update to catch up on, but I'll comment on your day of relaxation (in which you really did quite a lot)

We did, didn't we? So do I not call it relaxing? Well, since we didn't go to the parks, we'll call it relaxing. :)

Looks like a lovely breakfast at Olivia's. The atmosphere and the food both look incredible.

It truly is; and never crowded and I guess it is because if you aren't staying there, it's not one you'd look into.

Hmmm...I never thought to do that. Maybe we will take a boat and then stop off at Saratoga and then go back to OKW. I do love OKW...it is very pretty.

Laundry and Pool, a great combination, especially when you add in a Turtle Krawl. YUM!!! I can't remember, is that drink available at Vero, or any other Disney places, or just OKW?

I've never been to Vero so I don't know about that (Cynthia might know), but I don't think it is available anywhere else at DW.

Sorry you didn't find anything interesting at the outlets, but what a score at DTD. What a thoughtful and meaningful gift to recognize your son's accomplishment!

I was disappointed in the outlet. But I was very happy with our selection for Andy. He's worked hard to get that job at a young age and we couldn't be more proud of him.

What fun pictures at DTD.

Thank you.

You know that sea serpent in the water outside of the Disney Store? I'm pretty sure I'm the one who paid for that with all the money I have spent purchasing Lego sets for my two boys!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Thankfully, when our kids were young, we didn't spend too much time at DTD and we tried to avoid that shop when we did go.

Bailey's Shake??? Are you kidding me? Genius!

Absolutely GENIUS!

What an awesome meet with Cynthia this week!!! So glad to hear the two of you got together. What a nice picture.

Thank you; I'm so glad she could find the time to meet with me. We had such a great visit.

Seeing as though we live close to each other, we should work out a local DISmeet sometime. :thumbsup2

Danielle, I would really, really like that!

I'm very glad to hear about Mark and his job. I'm glad that it's worked out so far.

Me too; but I'm still not expecting it to last. He has a trade show today an dtomorrow...we will see how that goes.

:lmao:

Alone time is a good time to do it; and I would love to be a fly on the wall when you are all together. :rotfl2:

The Yachtsman filet is my favorite filet on Disney property. So so good.

It's outstanding!

Getting to see Em and Brenda again is pretty cool.

It was fun running into them off an don during our stay.

Hats! Oh, and fancy ears!

Glad you liked.

We had a full blown relaxation day on the last trip too, because it was 10 days long. They're such a great way to recharge.

At our age, we need recharging every once in awhile. I think on a 10 day trip, we'd need two days of relaxation.

I'm sorry the Character Outlet was a disappointment. We were planning on having a visit this upcoming trip. We typically don't go, but since we're driving in January, I figured it would be a good opportunity.

That might be a good time to go; they might have a lot of the Christmas stuff on sale.

Hahaha! My Dad needs a bib too! All the time. That's so cute.

Why we chose to wear our new shirts that night knowing we were going for ice cream is beyond me. I think that is the case for most men!

We were also tossing around the idea of going to Splitsville too in January. My Dad loves to bowl, and I think he would have a great time.

We love to bowl too (we do it almost every time we go and see the kids). I think your Dad would really like Splitsville.

How nice the gifts you received from Tim and his family and from Brenda and hers. Our Disney community is amazing.

D, I couldn't agree with you more. The DIS community is the best!

We love the morning EMH, too! Like you said, you get a lot done in that first hour and then you are ahead of the crowd for at least 2-3 hours more.

I'm really surprised more people don't do it. We can be in and out of the parks by noon and gotten most of it done.

Beautiful pictures from the ferry! I don't even know how many years it has been since we have done that!

We try to avoid the monorail at all costs...we are always the ones stuck on it for 20 minutes or more every single trip.

Great pictures of the characters in the opening show. Nice close-ups.

Thanks; we got a good spot that morning.

Where are you going??? Hmmm... Only Tomorrowland and the Fantastylands are open at that time, right? I'm going with Peter Pan.

You shall see in the next update.

I'm guessing this had something to do with the Government Shutdown- the mayor was unavailable, but since the Fire Chief is considered essential, he was able to be there.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I spit out my drink last night when I read this. Brilliant!

Great updates Kathy. Great gift for your son. What a great idea. We have not eaten at Earl in quite a while now. We really need to get back there. We just tried Raglan Road for the first time for dinner and it was very good.

Thanks, Doreen. We had walked into Team Mickey our first day there and we saw those and thought they would be perfect. Love Earl, but we ALSO love Raglan Road. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Too bad about the shopping and the Disney store! I love the Mickey's pantry store. I can go crazy with the spices and teas. It makes a nice gift for someone also.

My husband tries to keep me out of Mickey's pantry because I tend to spend way too much money in there.

Oh no...more rain????

Yep, more rain!

 :faint:

Oh stop it now! :rotfl:

Cool idea!:thumbsup2

Thanks; he was very happy with it.

Mmmm...EoS...now I'm hungry.

Sorry...not!

Wouldn't expect anything less.:thumbsup2

If you can't be silly at Disney, where can you be?

I keep getting stopped from going up in the balloon too. Someday...

We've tried the last three trips and it's either been too rainy or too windy.

Splitsville looks like fun. So does the dine-in theater.

It does, and I think we are definitely going to do it in August/September next year.

Always nice to have some spontaneous fun. You can be thankful for the rain!

It was the only time I didn't complain about the rain because we laughed so much.

Awesome!!

DISer's are the best!

So I left you that we had seen the Opening Show and nicely walked into the Magic Kingdom.

Normally, we go left. But it was EMH's and we were on a mission. So we headed straight and went through the castle. And rather than veering left, we continued straight and walked under here:

And saw how the construction was going:

I love how they even do the streets to fit the theme:

And we hopped in line here:

I limited my pictures during the ride this time as I wanted to enjoy it. I did take a few:

From there, we headed off to another favorite:

Continued in next post

After we saw Pooh and Tigger, we headed over to see Dumbo again.

I really should have bought that shirt...I love it

From there, we headed to Haunted Mansion and were given one of these:

Standby time:

Up next, a few more attractions and then a lunch ADR

Also, for those of you who didn't see it, I've started our PTR for our December trip. Here is the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3188927

I love that ya'll headed right towards the new Fantasyland. I can hardly wait to see it when it's all done and there are no construction walls. Like you, I think that it's neat that Disney thinks of everything....even adding details to the walkways.

Oooh, I love the Dumbo shirt and the hat too.

I think I am going to love the new Fantasyland! Each picture I see makes me want to go NOW, NOW, NOW! LOL

I am loving following your TR! It makes me trip seem so much closer than it really is right now. If I ask on FB will I get another installment today?? :rotfl:
