we will be in florida during the spce shuttle launch window and my DH is very excited :)
question is, roughly what time does the space shuttle usually launch? for those who have seen is launched before, I know it depends on weather etc but is it always morning, evening or no pattern at all :confused3 just want a rough idea so we can plan.
thanks in advance :sunny:

I was just going to post this question as well -

I am THINKING we just have to monitor the Nasa website to see if/when the put in more info...

Now that they've changed the window to starting on 5/22 we'll be there as well. We're arriving Vistana 5/21 - so we'll see.. My DH and DSs are space nuts... I think it's fascinating, but THEY are obsessed..

Currently there is no time given but when I say a launch before, it was pitch dark. The shuttle when it takes off really lights up the area. Having said that, I think most launches have been early morning. I would have to check that to verify. At this point, the only recommendation would be to check the NASA web or call them. One URL is: http://www.ksctickets.com/kennedyspacecenter/ltt.html This gets you to ticket information but it is easy to get the other information from here.

thanks gary, we have taken the plunge and bought tickets for the launch..................infinity and beyond....................................... :cool1:

The launch time listed on NASA's website is schedule for 1PM on the 22nd of May

Try this: NASA Launch The ticket site doesn't list the time, just the date.

I should say May 22nd is the targeted "no sooner than" launch date, which could always change, which is why they always put in the window..but for right now as far as scheduling purposes are concerned, it is the 22nd until NASA announces another change.
