What time is the evening rush hour between WDW and MCO? How much time would that add to the commute? And, if we use 417, would we see much of the rush hour effect? Thanks!

I would peg rush hour as anywhere starting around 4 and ending by about 7. Would you head into Disney during rush hour or would you be leaving? That might make a difference. Coming from Disney toward the airport on 417 is a breeze -- we did it on a Friday at 5:30 in the evening. Coming from MCO might be a little more congested but even then I did not notice much traffic at all. The worst traffic was much further north toward Sanford, and even then it only backed up at the toll plazas.
I would avoid the Beeline and I-4 is at all possible.

I4 is a mess right now and ANY time is "rush hour" On the weekends, it is hit or miss, but usually backed up at all times of day. Weekdays, obviously it is worse in the early mornings and late afternoon, but also after 9pm (construction begins). I remember being stuck in traffic on our way home from MCO at midnight of all times!

DEFINITELY take 417. It is worth the $2.75 in tolls! There is rarely traffic in 417 between WDW and MCO.

I agree about using 417. You won't see much traffic. There may be some at the toll plazas but it is a much better way to go than the Beeline and I-4.

Airport to WDW should be OK, as it will be a weekend. Return to airport will be around 4:30 on a Wednesday, so it looks like we will use 417.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Rush Hour in Orlando, Is not as bad as other cities in FL (Tampa, Ft Myers, Ft Lauderdale, etc..) You wont run into too long of lines at toll booths, because most residence that use 417 have EZ-Pass, and go flying through those booths at about 55 mph!! I would deafinetly have to agree, use 417, not I-4
