What time is it ok to mow lawn?

9 but then again I don't want to be up until at least 8...ever. Of course life has different plans and I'm forced up at the ungodly 630am on weekdays. So let me have my peace and at least wait until 9!

I like the 1pm rule. Need a new neighbor?

Well, since we are always up early anyway, 8 am seems reasonable. Even on Sundays- we are up and at church by 9 am ...

I won't do anything noisy before 9 am (the grass is still usually wet anyway). However , when it's super hot outside, I'll start mowing exactly at 9.

I like the 9am/10am rule. I love to sleep in and hate all the noisy yard equipment noises. Our neighbor across the street did his lawn last year from 8:30-9:30 pm! Most of the time, he was in the dark. That annoyed DH but didn't bother me although it was odd. Maybe he was working long hours but he usually cut it on a weeknight.

8am to 8pm... though I would be happier with 9am.

It is so NOT OKAY on a Sunday morning. That is the only day of the week that should just stay quiet and let people sleep, drink coffee in peace and quiet. I hate it when neighbors are out working then. Just my opinion tho:).

Sunday is just another day to many people (myself included). Many people work all week and only have Saturday and Sunday to get much outside work done. That is when I have to do most of my stuff.

8am until dark

Of course I don't even have neighbors that are close enough that I would hear their mowers.

I do have a neighbor with a very very loud generator. When its running all night we hear it and get annoyed but that is just because it's so quiet when there is no power and I'm really just jealous that they have a generator and we don't have one yet ;)

Thank godwe don't live in a deed restricted community - I say anytime you want, esp early on our hot fl days............. now in all our years together dh has never done yard work before 10 am hegoes to wor before and his 2 days off he likes to sleep in

Adding....thank GOD I live in the country and this is just another reason why we are so glad we don't have neighbors anymore. Our nearest neighbor is about 1/4 mile away through and open hay field. In the summer, when DH has to mow our pastures, the heat on that tractor is unbearable so he goes out as soon as the sun gives him enough light, and continues until it's too hot to go on. Since the weekends for us aren't weekends (we work 7 days so Sunday is just another day), it simply wouldn't be feasible to have to wait until midday.

I grew up in suburban Long Island so I understand the need to be respectful of your neighbors (which is why I answered 8am earlier). I'm just glad I don't have to worry about it anymore (or barking dogs, or leaves blowing in my yard, or a neighbors tree touching my fence etc).

No one here seems to do outside things on Sundays............but since it is AZ and most of the year it gets very hot.........most people have yard maintenance people and they start at 6:30 am during the week. Need to get it done while they can.
Also new house construction starts really early too.
I understand and it is fine with me.

No regulations here, but I keep it to not before 8 AM on Saturdays and 10 AM on Sundays.

I think 8 AM. I don't think the day of the week should matter. What difference does Sunday matter over Saturday?? :confused3

DH/DS usually wait until 8 or 9 if mowing is going to get done in the morning, but sometimes it doesn't get done until the afternoon/evening depending on our schedules.

If we know neighbors are having a party, we make sure to not mow when that's going on, and DH will even make a point to try to mow before the party so it looks nicer.

Personally we won't start any sort of yard work until 10. HOA says 8. We do tend to do it later in the day anyways though, there have bee a few times that I've had to rush to beat the sun going down.

:thumbsup2 Totally agree!

I wish people wouldn't start until at least 9. But, since we live in southeast TX, it's just not possible in the summer to wait that long. It's already too hot! Most people in our neighborhood start between 6-7 am on the weekends. I don't like it, but I do understand it.

But in the winter? I'm pretty mad if someone is out before 9 am mowing their lawn.

so tell me ..........what time do you think it is ok to mow, weed eat or do noisy things outside? Just curious, as I was woken very early (to Me) this Sunday am by the sound of a weedwacker......and today is the day we lost an hour of sleep to Daylight Savings Time. I was quite aggravated with my neighbor, looked outside and saw my husband with the weedeater. :scared1:

If you walked down my block, you would think I live on a lovely street. It doesn't have too much car traffic and most keep their homes nice BUT I have the most inconsiderate neighbors :confused3
Like you, they start to do their lawns or whatever at 8 am.
Some have a lawn service and they come at 8 am too.
This morning, a neighbor 2 houses down on the other side of the street was in her car in front of her house beeping and beeping and beeping NON STOP, about 8:30 am (7:30 am to ME LOL). I woke up, looked outside and saw it was her. She thinks that since she is up everyone is up or just doesn't care :scared1:

I remember when we first moved here about 10 years ago, when we would leave early in the morning on the weekend for baseball or for the beach, I would tell the kids to please just whisper since I don't want them to wake anyone up. They are older now and unfortunately I couldn't care less if they were having a conversation from my door to the street since it doesn't seem to bother anyone but me and my dh :confused3

My ds had his first day in a VERY long time to sleep in today since he does travel baseball and practice was canceled today, which never happens, and we were all (well expect my dd-18 LOL) woken up today by the idiot across the street. My dh was outside by 9 am doing the lawn since it is a beautiful day here today and not one we get too see usually this early in the month.

am I the only one who doesn't get woken up by lawn mowers? I have no idea what time my neighbors mow their lawn...
