so tell me ..........what time do you think it is ok to mow, weed eat or do noisy things outside? Just curious, as I was woken very early (to Me) this Sunday am by the sound of a weedwacker......and today is the day we lost an hour of sleep to Daylight Savings Time. I was quite aggravated with my neighbor, looked outside and saw my husband with the weedeater. :scared1:

It is so NOT OKAY on a Sunday morning. That is the only day of the week that should just stay quiet and let people sleep, drink coffee in peace and quiet. I hate it when neighbors are out working then. Just my opinion tho:).

Between the hours of 8AM - 8PM ... (which is actually the noise ordinance policy of our town) ... :)

We have a Sunday noise ordinance here. 1pm is the earliest you are allowed to mow with a motor. I would be peeved with anyone doing it prior to 11am.
It's simply rude.

I am perfectly fine with anyone mowing, weed whacking, etc. at 8 am or later. I actually love the sound and love waking up to it.

Plowing, snow blowing...I hate the sound of that. But since people have to get to work, it seems to happen earlier. :headache: Of course I understand, people have to dig out and get on with their lives after snow.

8am, and that is the time set forth in our home owners association rules.

8 AM any day.

I couldn't imagine having to wait until 1PM, that is insane. But that is why I would never live anywhere with a HOA

I would say 8am, although it honestly doesn't bother me if someone's out there earlier. It gets hot so early in the summer you've gotta get it done early.

I completely agree.

This. I say no earlier than 9 because 9am to 9pm are the hours its okay to call.
This is completely reasonable and makes perfect sense for the exact same reason.

Awesome, I want to live here!

I think our rules regarding any noise is for 7:00 am, but most of us have our lawns done by landscapers and they usually don't get started until after 8:00 am. More often, they come later than that and never on Sundays. Usually, they're in and out in fifteen minutes or less with one person on the big mower and another doing the trimming and blowing. Ours also do the house next door and two across the street so they take a little longer, and also do a better job than most.

In my opinion, 9AM on weekdays and 10AM on weekends or holidays.

I agree. Though I would expect on days like today, that people would wait until 11, knowing that people lost an hour of sleep.

There are times in the heat of the summer I would think it would be reasonable to do it earlier (8 am) to avoid the heat. I don't think there's anywhere in the country that can use that excuse right now though. There's no reason to bother your neighbors that way.

Our summer temps exceed 100, many days are over 110. Everybody gets out early to beat the heat. As long as there is daylight, I'm not annoyed.

Wow you guys are very generous! :goodvibes DH is a naturally early riser (like 4am, weekdays AND weekends! :scared1:) and I have to hold him back from mowing or weedwhacking until at least 9. 8 am seems way too early to me, although like a pp, I personally love waking to the sound! Next door neighbor, who I know sleeps till noon on the weekends, not so much. ;)

Anytime after 7AM is fine with me, but I don't start mine until 8.
