Very cloudy day on this damn Island, At least it is 61 degrees.

What's going on with the weather? It's May and it's freezing here. We went from being in the 60's and 70's back down to the 30's and 40's. We've had snow flurries off and on here all day yesterday, and so far today. Don't get me wrong, I love that we're getting moisture. Just can't believe we're getting snow in May. Only good thing is, the winds have finally died down.

Don't you just hate that! Of course, we always go with the idea that we're going to lose, but it's nice when that doesn't happen! I even don't mind losing (not TOO much anyway) as long as I feel I've gotten my money's worth in playing time. If I can play the slots for a few hours and break even, it's all good.

We're just like you. We know there's a chance that we aren't going to win and you're right, it is nice when it does happen. We also like to feel we've at least gotten our money's worth and played for a good while. We allot so much money for gambling each day. Once it's gone, it's gone, but on this trip it seemed to go a lot faster than some of our past trips. Didn't seem like we really got to play at all this trip. In the past, if we lost one day, usually we can make it up the next day and extend our playing time. The machines just weren't paying at all. You can tell they are really hurting over there.

We are having terrible flooding in my area. We have been out of school for over a week and today the levee broke, so not sure when and if we will be able to get back to school. Have been sandbagging and fixing meals at my church for all the helpers. We have had over 20 inches of rain in the last week.

Oh NOW it's sunny and hot there. AFTER we leave.

It's still cold here, but supposed to start getting warm again. Clouds have moved out and the sun is back out. Winds are still calm at the moment, finally. Supposed to be windy for Mother's day though. Yuck!

Sue, I bet you still might. The same system that just brought us snow, looks like it's headed in your direction. At least it's warmed up where you're at. DW was saying the other day, since the East is flooding and we're in a drought here in the SW; we should try to find a way to channel all the excess water out of the East to us over here in the SW. This would solve our drought problem and your flooding problem, then all would be good in the U.S. again.

It was warm here and then suddenly it got cold. I wish I knew what was up with the winds here as well. It's usually some what windy during March and April, but I don't ever remember them being this constant or blowing as hard as they've been lately. Even though I complain, I really can't complain as much as the people who have seen a record number of tornadoes this year. I'll take the wind any day. As long as they don't get to hurricane strength as we have seen on some days here.
