Over the weekend, we had some record breaking heat throughout different parts of our state. Here in Santa Fe, we tied the record hitting 99 degrees. We usually average in the high 80's, low 90's. If this keeps up, we just might hit the 100 mark.
Yesterday we got back to normal at 92. Today is also supposed to be 92.
Currently at 11:49a, we are at 82.
Yes, Thumper, Mike called and said it was 100 degrees in Cimarron. He has been doing allot of hiking and it has been sooo warm. So funny to think when he got there 6 weeks ago it was sooo cold!!! He has a bad cold and went to the health lodge, the first thing they ask you do to is get weighed ... he has lost 22lbs since arriving on April 25th. YIKES! He still has 2 more months of intense hiking before leaving on August 1st!!!
Brett and I went for a ride on Sunday INLAND ... we left SD coastline and it was 72 degrees and as we traveled inland the temps went up and up and hit 97 degrees!!!Man o man, it was HOT!!!
Thankfully, CA never has any humidity to worry about.
11:21am in San Deigo. Bright sun, 72 degrees.![]()
9:06am in San Deigo. 68 degrees ... but dealing with that darn marine layer ... another words it is cloudy this a.m.![]()
It's 1:56p and 69 degrees and partly cloudy, feels cool to me.
luv, I have been there twice now in the last week and it looks to me like the seals all come up on the beach more in the afternoon ... in the morning they basically stay in the water ... so keep that in mind.
Oh poop, I'm back in jeans it's 65 cloudy and going to rain all day here on LI. I have to put up my Jeep top for the next 5 days, smelly buggers!
We totally skipped Spring here. We went from one extreme to the other. DW and I have to go back down to Southern New Mexico again in a couple of days. Down there, they're over the hundreds. Not really looking forward to this trip. If it wasn't for business, I wouldn't go.
Maybe I should get a job with your MIKE. Lord knows I can drop a few pounds.![]()
DW and I are planning a trip out to your neck of the woods next year. Looking forward to that cool ocean breeze as you describe.![]()
We LOVED San Diego! We spent time at La Jolla Shores, Del Mar, and a day at Coronado Island. We took Carter to the aquarium while is mom and dad went to the beach and we explored the area between Del Mar and Mission Beach. The weather was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed it since it's been in the hundreds in Tucson.
I absolutely fell in love with Coronado Island! My husband and I will definitely return and stay a few nights at "The Del"! Loved it!
Love all the pics, Carter is going from a baby to a little boy so quickly!!!!Love love love his SOX hat and his Kennebunkport T!!!!
8:34am in San Diego. 65 degrees and more of that darn marine layer until noon.![]()
Ha! Ha! I guess we were thinking the same thing about Carter growing up! And yeah, even if we end up living on the west coast for the rest of our lives, we'll always be New Englanders at heart!
Is that 'marine layer' thing something that happens just in June or is it there other times of the year as well? We noticed every morning was overcast, but the sun always came out eventually. And when it did, the sun was gorgeous! We didn't miss the high temps that we left behind in AZ.
