Plan to RD MK for Tron next Monday. Staying onsite at GF. Better to take the boat or Monorail? Not sure when either start up in the morning?

Walking is objectively the best way to get to MK for EE from GF because you can be at the tapstiles earlier than the monorail and boat start running. iirc when we did this in September we were held at security (shared with the resort launch) until 7 for an 8a EE but since no one else was there we headed right through and were at the front of the tapstiles with only a small handful of other guests. The first boats hadn't even started running yet and the monorail had just started up. I wouldn't mess with the monorail or boat if I intended to be front of pack for Early Entry personally.

Ahh. I had forgotten about the walkway from GF to MK. For Monday Mar 3rd MK opens at 8am w/ EE at 7:30am. What time would you recommend beginning our walk from GF to be near the front of crowd for Tron! And thank you for your reply.

It depends a little on which building you are in. In Sept we were in Conch so it was a slightly longer trip to where the walkway starts, but it’s no more than a couple of minutes difference. For front of pack at EE I like to be at the park 1 hr to 45 minutes at the absolute latest depending on when they start letting ppl through security. I’ve noticed MK tends not to let ppl thru as early as the other parks but walkers still have an advantage.

Depending on how fast you walk GF to MK is about the same as the walk from Swan or BWI to HS I find. Around 10-12 minutes but I walk fast lol. But I also love that walk because it’s really quiet and beautiful in the very early morning hours. We even saw a stag at the edge of the trees the morning we did it!

Nice! Thanks so much. With a 7:30 EE we will begin our walk by 6:30 at latest.
