We want to do a character breakfast on a non park day or on the day we leave. What time is good for maximum character interaction, least busy, best experience etc

Thanks so much

Do you know which one you are doing yet? I assume it won't be Minnie and Friends or Ariel's since you said it will be a non-park day and Minnie's is inside DL, while Ariel's is inside DCA.

I know the Goofy's Kitchen earliest seating time is 7:00 a.m. I would assume that Lilo and Stitch and Storytellers have the same early seating times, because many people want to do the character meals before they go into the parks and not waste any park time. I have done Goofy's and Storytellers and it seemed like - and this may or may not be the norm - that the earlier we were there, the fewer people there were in the restaurant, and the later we were there, more people began to show up. However, the catch with that is that sometimes the slower and quieter it is in the restaurant - say, for a 7:00 a.m. seating - the fewer characters may be there. It seems like as the morning goes along and more people come to eat, more characters show up. The upside to getting there super early with fewer characters is that the characters will spend more time with your table, or come back for repeated visits and play a little bit more. I am not sure if it works the same way at L&S, with more characters showing up as the morning progresses and more guests arrive, but that was what I have noticed at GK and Storytellers.:goodvibes

On our last trip Sept. 2006, we ate at Goofy's Kitchen on the day we left (which was on a weekday). We stayed at the DL Hotel and got ourselves all packed up, went down to breakfast probably around 9:30-ish (can't remember) and then back up to our room to check-out & load up the cars.

It was quite busy when we got to Goofy's, but had mostly cleared out by the time we were finished. We found that most people got in early so they could eat and then hit the parks. We were not going into the parks so we were able to make a later reservation and take our time eating. Since most of the restaurant had cleared out, we had the characters to ourselves!

We thought it was a nice end to our trip and still had that Disney feel even though we did not go into the parks! :)

Personally I like going to the later seatings for character meals. Usually the character interaction is great and the place isn't that busy. Also, you can sleep in a bit and then skip lunch since you ate breakfast so late.

I have the same idea. Great minds think alike???;)

My train leaves at 1pm, we need to be there at least 12:30pm. How quick will a cab get us to the train station (2adults, 4 kids)?

I was thinking about breakfast at Goofy's, packing then checking out. But not sure what time to make the ressie.

This was a good question and I hope it recieves more suggestions and tips.

What time is considered 'later'. ? How long are they opened?

thanks for the replies

If I recall correctly, the last seating time you can get with a PS for Goofy's is maybe 11:00 a.m. or possibly 11:30. I could be wrong on that and I think Disneyland Dining changes the PS times every year. They give each person a 90-minute limit (though they don't really come around and enforce it by hustling you away from the table!:lmao: ), so let's say they assume the diners will be finished at 1:00 p.m. Goofy's then closes for a few hours and reopens for dinner later on. See, in my experience, in general I have found more guests begin to arrive the later it gets in the morning (and more characters show up to handle those guests), but other folks say that the restaurant gets less busy as the morning wears on when they have eaten there, so really you can't rely on any set pattern. It seems to differ. You just kind of have to take a gamble and go. The food is freshest first thing in the morning, but the characters trickle in slowly. Goofy and Baloo are usually there right at opening, watching everyone as they come in to sit down. Then eventually Chip and Dale and Pluto come in, and then whichever guest stars are on the rotation that day, whether it be Alice and the Mad Hatter, Aurora and the Prince, Jasmine and Aladdin, Belle, Minnie, or perhaps a combination of any of the previously mentioned characters (like it could be Jasmine and Aurora on the rotation that day). You don't want to get there SO early that you only see 2 characters, but you don't want to get there too much later, either. Maybe 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. would be good???:confused3
