We will be staying at the Contemporary and I am going to look into the Water Mice Rentals Family or Captain Plan but between our time in the park and it possibly raining a lot (last year it really rained !) So I would appreciate all the help I can get from people who have more experience with this type of stuff ;)

When doing the Family or Captains Plan I see that there is a limit of four people per plan ? Do you know if this means four "driving" people or four people no matter how many boats are taken out ?

It will be me , DH and our DS 6
My mom , dad and brother 22

I figure if we do the water mice at all we will be split to 3 boats My parents, brother and son , and Dh and I. I know my mother won't ever want to drive and of course DS is out of the question really at all times that leaves only 3 of us to drive 3 boats.

Also what time do the docks close for rentals of these water crafts ? We stayed at CBR last year but never really noticed ...

Thanks again !!:Pinkbounc

We rented a water mouse at the GF marina and I think I remember it closing at 6. I can't give you any info on the plans, but I thought the individual rental rates were suprisingly reasonable.

At Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge the closing time was 6pm. I would imagine that the Contemporary would have the same closing time. I think that POR closed at 7 but I could be wrong.

I think it was 5 P at WL in May, but I wouldn't swear to it. Have you ever tried 2 adults in a watermouse? I think the weight limit MIGHT be up to 300 lbs now, which could certainly accomodate 2 adults, but it could be tight.

we were just there and at the GF marina the answer was "sundown" -- but it was well before sundown after a major storm and they had not reopened to boat traffic.

My DS was determined to drive a Watermouse, so we went to Cap'n Jacks at Downtown Disney, which closes at 7 pm in the summer. He had a fun time driving his younger sister until he got back and the CM told him there are speed governors on the DD boats, limiting them to 5 mph, while the bay lakes "monorail" ones go 15-20 mph.

It was $22 for half an hour.
