anyone know when the Magic will actually be leaving Port Canaveral heading for drydock? Will it be today? Will we see it leave on the port cam?

Any DIS'ers know about a drydock cam so we don't have to go through withdraws for the next TWO weeks.

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I was wondering the same thing! Just checked the local6 webcam and there's the Magic! Where are they taking her to for Dry Dock? Does the crew get a well-deserved break this week or are they a part of the renovation process? (They all deserve a week at Disney if you ask me! :)

The crew will be part of the renovation process. No idea when it leaves, but it has to be out of the way by 5am tomorrow for the Wonder to dock.

It looks like they are pumping fuel out in preparation for drydock. The fuel barge has been alongside all day and you can see red on the bottom of the hull. Normally, when she is fueled, you can't see any red paint.

Anyone know where the drydock is?

Drydock is in the Norfolk VA area. Not sure if it's actually Norfolk, or VA beach. I know there are some people on the board who live nearby.

Oooops.......... just realized the picture on www.local6.com is from 10:25 this morning. So, who knows if they were pumping fuel in or out.

Sure wish I lived closer to Norfolk. I'd love to see the Magic in drydock.

I was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital near Norfolk, Va. I live in NJ now, maybe I should take a ride back to my place of birth, LOL!!!

Hey Andy,
I'm thinking of going down there next weekend.
The crew do not get the 2 weeks off. They work their butts off, from what I have been told.

I was talking with our assistant server Prudence, when we were on our cruise, she said that she will be working on the ship during this dry dock.

During the last dry dock, our server Roberto worked on the ship, he told us he a couple of days off, and spent his days off, visiting the Washington, D.C. area.

I live with in 3 hours or so of Norfolk. Do any of you know if people can go see the ship? Wouldn't that be a nice pick me up? We miss the Magic!! LOL

That's really weird. The Magic pulled into port Saturday 9/27, right? I was on the 9/25 Wonder and when we pulled into port on 9/28, I didn't see the Magic. I was out on my verandah (port side) looking around at the grey and rainy weather, ya think I'd have seen something 964 feet long that was 83,000+gross tonage. :)

Hmmmmmm

By the time you got back to port, the Magic was already on it's way to dry dock in Virginia.

She is here I believe. We live in Virginia Beach VA and our paper showed her in drydock in Portsmouth. She looked beautiful. Keep you posted.

oops, I should have checked the date on MarkRG's post. It was before I got back! I saw "tomorrow by 5 am" and I literally thought it was "TOMORROW"

Guess a bit too much sun on CC!

What is the name of the newspaper where you saw a picture of the Magic?

Welcome to VA, Magic!!!!!!!!

Plutospup, It was the Virginian Pilot. It was in the main section of the Pilot on Wed. I am trying to get the photo. My friend scanned it but it has not been sent to me yet. Will keep you posted.

Thanx Skycon. I tried to find the photo of the Magic in drydock online. Unfortunately, to check the Virginian Pilots' archive you either have to be a subscriber, or pay a fee. Unfortunately, I'm not a subscriber, and quite frankly I'm too cheap to pay!

Skycon, as a subscriber you might be able to log onto their archives and copy the Magic photo. Good luck!

Ok, I weaseled my way into the Virginian Pilot archives and found the picture of the Magic on p. 10 of Wednesday's edition. Now how can I copy the photo into a post? Help!
