Anyone know what time main street bakery opens? We are doing the keys to the kingdom tour one day and we have to be there 8:15a.??

You will love this tour. It is the most incredible thing at Disney. Hope you get Rae for a guide. She was terrific. Every time we entered the park for early tours or breakfast, the bakery was open. You should not have a problem. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I thought for a few years now the Bakery just opens when the park opens?

Thank you everyone for all your replies :cheer2:

We are doing the 8:30 tour, and were told to be there at 8:15. Park does not open until 9am.

We get into Orlando on a Thursday, and I booked the tour at 8:30a on Friday. (I am taking my mom who hasn't been in 10yrs and only been twice who desperately needs a vacation..she is a caregiver to my dad who has M.S.)

I thought that way she could see Main Street while it was very quiet!

I have nothing left to do except obsess!! I wish I could pack or something!

The main gate usually opens an hour befor the park for early breakfast. The Bakery will also be open. It's really neat walking down Main Street with a small amount of people. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

1) No.
2) The park opens on time, not 1-hr early.
3) You cannot get to Main Street for breakfast before park open.
4) The exception is character meals.

I think the 1 hr early is not correct information.

You have to check in special if you are eating at a TS place like CP or CRT in order to get in ...

They dont' just open the park willy nilly to everyone early.

NO! We did the KTTK tour in Feb and was so hoping it would be open....NO it is not open before you leave on the tour. They will have complimentary water and coffee and soda at the tour office for all to have prior to departing.

AFAIK, it has been quite some time ( 5 years :confused3 ) since Main Street has opened before teh rest of the park. I really wish the various guide books would get their data straight on this. I think that is where much misunderstanding comes from

When I said the gate opened an hour early for breakfast, I meant the chacter breakfast and we have this done many times. I guess all things do change because we did the keys tour in Aug. 2004 and the bakery was indeed open. Then again every time we go, there are major changes. Everytime we have gone early for a TS breakfast, as early as 8:00 ( when park opening is 9:00)we were never asked if we had reservations until we got to the castle. Never at the gate. After breakfast we stand at the rope by the castle to wait for the drop and the rides to open. Even on the keys tour we weren't asked until we checked in at town hall. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I agree with you.

I think it changed after 9/11. :confused3 The parks weren't as busy for a while and MK stopped admitting people onto Main St before official opening. I really miss that quiet time there. Then a couple years ago they started that thing with Mickey et al arriving by train right before 9am.

jonimce, it really wouldn't make sense to have the Bakery open before hours. The only guests allowed in at that point are headed to breakfast anyway. Perhaps the door was open though. :confused3

That does make sence. Maybe when we had our tour it was an EMH day. We will not be going until mid August, but we check it out.

I have never seen where Mickey arrives by train. Do you need to be by the train station?

Yes, the way MK entry works now is that at some point...sorry have no clue exactly when.....people are allowed through the security check and turnstiles but are held in the area in front of the train station. Shortly before opening, the train pulls into the station with Mickey and a ton of characters aboard waving at the crowd below. A family is chosen to open the MK and is also on board. There is a countdown, etc and then the crowds are allowed to enter the park.

Not sure if the family thing is every day or not. There is probably lots of info on the theme parks board. :sunny:

Is this still how it works? It's been years since we've been there, so my family has been assuming Main St. still opened prior to the actual park opening.
