What time does it get dark in January?

We really want to go to World Showcase when it is light, but it looks like it never opens before 11 am. We have 2 small children that go down for naps in the early afternoon, so we can't spend more than a couple hours there before naptime. Will it be dark already when we are getting out again around 5 pm? That's usually when it gets dark here in Idaho during late January. Dh thinks it might stay lighter later due to Florida being closer to the equator, but when we were there last September, it seemed to get dark around 7 pm or so, just like it does here. Can anyone shed any (ahem) light on this?

Thanks!

Sunset in Kissimmee is 5:41pm on January 1st, increasing to 6:04pm on January 31st.
As compared to Idaho... a random selection of Boise showed sunset at 5:19pm on January 1, and 5:54 on January 31st. So... it's not that different. It is true that in general the farther south you go in the winter the more daylight you will get. This has to be adjusted, however, for location within a time zone, etc. It gets pretty complicated.

Hope this helps!

I was afraid of that.:( Maybe we'll have to sleep in one morning or get up extra early to adjust their nap schedule so we can see more of it during the daytime. Thanks so much for checking!

Since Epcot is the only park that really stays open at night during January - you could spend two afternoons into evenings there and see lots of stuff! It is gorgeous at night time, and the shows and rides are all indoors so it wouldn't make a difference, really. So go after the naps and have fun!
