what time does housekeeping show up?

is the housekeeping done on a schedule, certain floors at certain times? I will want our room every day after 1, for a few hours, but I dont want to hassle the staff, would like the room done up in the am, if possible. if you ask , can this be done?
just wanted to know.
any help would be welcome.

We've been in different buildings, on different floors, different rooms so we have had all different times. We have had one as early as 8:00 a.m. and one as late as 4:00 p.m.

I'm not sure if you ask ahead of time if they can tell you what time they will be at your room and if that can be changed. Maybe someone else will now this.

I have called housekeeping before leaving the room and asked for early housekeeping, they were there before we came back in the afternoon.

I will second this -- when my kids were younger I would call housekeeping and ask that the room be made up before noon so that we could come back to the room for a nap, and they always did it.

When you don't request a time, housekeeping could come at almost any time between 8 AM and 4 PM.

You never know when they will show up, at ANY hotel, cheap or expensive.

We always come back in the early afternoon for some down time, so I also always like if possible to have the room cleaned in the a.m. As soon as we check in, I call housekeeping. I politely introduce myself, tell them what room we are in and how long we will be there. Then I politely ask, if possible and if it will be no trouble, can we have the room cleaned by 1:00 everyday. They have always been happy to grant us our request. Our room has always been cleaned by the time we got back.

Rooms that have been vacated are cleaned first. Then occupied rooms.

If you want your room cleaned while you are out, call Housekeeping from your room phone, Do not call the Front Desk and ask to have it cleaned before a certain time.

It is best to call them the day before so they can schedule it not the day off.

I always call first thing int he morning and ask for a early cleaning, with that said we have returned to teh room as easrly as 1m to find that they have not been there yet.

I think it depends on there work load how many people are checking out etc.

I posted this in a nother spot....

We were at Sports...and our room was cleaned between 2-3:30 everyday and only once on our trip was it really "cleaned" we were usualy back at our room between 2:30 and 3 for downtime or swimtime and only once was it already done when we got back and if I was there they wouldn't clean it. I offered to go to the pool where my hubby and kids were adn they said no they weren't cleaning and shoved towels at me. I was a bit miffed I hate to sleep in an unmade bed so I ended up making them everyday.
