What time do you get up?

We usually are up and ready to face the world around 9am (so we really get started around 8am so we all can get showered). We usually are up to around midnight :faint: (way past my normal bed time). Next cruise it will be interesting to see how the going to bed and getting up will be since we will have a "honest to goodness teenager" (15) :earseek: as opposed to the 13yo last time). :rolleyes1

But back to the morning stuff. After we've showered we head up to topsiders for breakfast and then we do a couple of laps around deck 4 then go inside to studio sea for one of the cooking demonstrations. So for us 10:15am (last cruise) is when the first "must do" activity started.

I developed a bit of a routine, mainly for sea days, on our back to backs....
1. woke around 6:30-7, ran up to the beverage station to grab some coffee
2. go to whatever early morning cardio class they had or lift in the work out room
3. go to Cove Cafe to see Prince and get some REAL coffee.
4. head back to the stateroom to see if DH has woken from his deep slumber
5. after unsuccessfully trying to wake DH (too many ESPN beer mugs!) I would go grab a lite bite to eat at topsiders.
6. repeat step 4, then head to somewhere besides Topsiders for another breakfast w/ DH in tow.
7. Lounge on deck 10 for as long as humanly possible

If this was an excursion day, skip step 2.

We get up early, usually before the breakfast restaurant even opens..we take a walk, get some coffee. Wait for the breakfast restaurant to open, with a few other crazies and enjoy the peacefulness of the ship. We are normally early risers..so nothing new for us.

This is a great thread. It let's me daydream a bit! DH is not a morning person (understatement  ) so I'm usually up at least by 7am with DS and DD in tow. DH and I may have to work something out so I can experience that sunrise from a deck chair!

Never heard about the spa shower being so great, I am going to have to give that a try instead. We are from the west coast so our clocks are a bit different. My DH still is up early but I tend to stay in bed longer, at least until DH brings me my morning coffee. The three of us don't generally sit down to breakfast together, just grab something as hunger strikes. My concern is my DS, who is 10, and practicing the teenage thing of sleeping in. We have been off for three weeks for winter break and he is sleeping in until 10.

We were usually up between 7:30 to 8 am, but for me that is actually sleeping in (5:30 on normal days). The strangest part was DH was up before me. When we are at home, we are lucky if he gets up before 11 :confused3 It must be all the sea air

I usually sleep in till around 8:30 or 9:00 (thats when I usually wake up on my own) on days at sea. First and Last thing I do every day is check the Navigator. I put on my swimsuit and cover up and head to Top Siders to eat breakfast. After eating breakfast, I head for the pool and hang out there until there is something else I want to do!!!

On Port days I am an early riser because I love to watch us pull into port. Port days I usually get up about 6:00am, go up to watch, eat breakfast, then head out to the Port.

You all have given me some great ideas to try on our cruise for our mornings. Thanks so much! It also shows that there is no real rush at any time for breakfast!

On our 3 night cruise, we got up about 8:30 or 9. We were on vacation so we like sleeping in. If we were doing 7 nights, we would do the same thing. We are not the breakfast people.

We never left the stateroom before 9:30 except for one shore excursion and customs. We did not set any alarms. It was nice to sleep in. The sea sickness meds also made more sleepy than normal.

When I went on a cruise, I got up around 6:30 -- lolled about in my room ... just because I could, then headed up on deck between 7:30 & 8am... It's just so beautiful, it's hard to miss any of it.

I love the idea of getting up early but the reality of it is just so painful for me. Any suggestions for us non-morning people to help get us up and out earlier?.

Never been on the Eastern Cruise, and I have seen a couple posts which mention having to get up early in St. Thomas. What is the deal !! Immigration ?

Any more late sleepers or early wakers out there?
