What time do East coasters eat dinner?

I am ready to get my dining plans done, but I am unsure as to what time to book. We usually eat at 6 PM east coast time. That is 2 PM correct?

Do you all stay on your normal schedules and book late lunches or do you eat "later"?

I can't comment on what time East Coasters normally eat dinner, but 6:00 PM on the East Coast is 3:00 PM on the West Coast - there is a 3 hour difference. I would think being off-schedule would be an advantage to booking lunches and dinners, but I am a bit odd. I just eat when I am hungry.

There's a 3 hour difference between Eastern and Pacific time.

But...you wouldn't want to make your dinner reservations at 3 o'clock, just b/c your stomach will be ready at what it thinks of as 6. Unless you're only there one day. Otherwise that's a LONG time until breakfast!

I wanted to add on.

My mom lived in VA for a few years, and before that FL. I was in CA and WA. When I would visit, I would try to get on their schedule ASAP, b/c otherwise I was too "off" the whole time.

However, for a week's vacation, I wouldn't try THAT hard, b/c that's too short a time. In your situation, I would probably halve the difference, or something around that. Maybe the first day try to imagine yourself eating around the time that your stomach is saying something, but like I said, that's a long time between "dinner" and breakfast. Plus, some places will still be on lunch menus, won't they? I'd go a little later for dinner, but have snacks, too. You don't want to mess yourself up for a relatively short stay, but you don't want to starve, either!

Have fun!

Hi, I travel from RI to CA frequently for business and I generally eat in local times. Sometimes that means needing an extra snack now and then, but it works out pretty well.

My biggest problem is waking up on East Coast time and not knowing what to do with myself for 3 hours til everyone else wakes up! :coffee:

You might be able to take advantage of the time difference to save a little money, not to mention crowds. If you eat your dinner at 3pm west coast time, that will be 6pm east coast time. Lunch menu prices are sometimes cheaper than dinner menus. Check menus from the restaurants you want to visit, some have lunch menus that usually end at 3pm and some don't.

We take advantage of the time difference when we head to WDW. We eat a huge lunch around 2-3pm (our noon time) and get the lunch menu prices. Then we eat a lighter dinner around 9pm (6pm west coast time) and avoid the crowds.
