What time do discounts become available?

When Disney announces discounts (room only, free dining, etc.), what time do they become available? And is there any way to know in advance that they are coming, or do I just need to check daily around the time they're expected to be announced?

The timing isn't consistent, as it involves a system load and they don't do a good job with system load timing.

There's generally only rumor, no firm "will be available at 6AM tomorrow!"

If you go up into the "Discount Codes and Rates" at the top of this forum you should be able to find several threads started for months that people are waiting on and you can follow along there. Either "watch" the thread or stick your own comment in whichever one fits your desired dates and then you will get notifications of any action. There will be some buzz about a week - 10 days before the *expected* release date. Once that is confirmed (there are some travel agents who give heads up) you can get ready to either go on-line at 6 to book one yourself or go on hold after 7 (yup the lines will be busy on those dates!) I've seen them released online as early as 12:01 am, and other times have not seen them appear until 6:00 am or 7:00 am.
