I have looked for the answer everywhere and always get a different answer from everyone.
I have a dining reservation at the Polynesian at 8am so will I be able to catch a Bus from AKL to MK around 7:20am or so ???

Buses to each park from every resort (except, obviously, monorail or boat resorts) start at 6:30 AM and run about every thirty minutes that early. For an 8 AM resort breakfast, you want to be waiting for the nearest park bus no later than 7 AM.

Buses start running to all parks, from all resorts, by 6:30 each day. You may find the MK buses starting earlier than that...sometimes by 6:15ish.
SO...if you have an 8am ADR at the Polynesian, you should be out at the MK bus stop at your resort by 6:30. As already noted, these buses don't come quite as frequently as the regular buses. So if one is just leaving as you get to the bus stop you may have a longish wait, up to 30 mins. Most likely the wait will be less than that, but better to be safe than worry. When you get to the MK you can hop on the monorail..it starts running around 7am. You should plan on it taking about 15 mins to get to the Polynesian from the MK stop.

The other thing you can do is to ask the bus driver, when you board, which is faster to the Polynesian....boat or monorail. He/she may offer to drop you at the Polynesian on his way out of MK. He may not but it's worth a shot.

We do these early morning breakfasts all the time. 6:45 is when we usually hit the bus stop and we always make it in plenty of time. I agree with Goofy4Tink, you may likely be the only ones at the bus stop that early in the morning and the driver "could" drop you off right at the Poly. It never hurts to politely ask.

Kanga1,

Thank you for making your post and starting this thread. :thumbsup2 My family wants to book a Chef Mickey experience as early in the day as possible, and I was wondering when the resort buses started their runs for the day. This has just the information I was looking for!! :woohoo:

I just wanted to bump this thread because it's valuable information that many people don't know.

You might re-think that. Chef Mickey's can start at 7 am. If you aren't staying at the CR, Poly, or GF - that can be nearly impossible to make without driving a car from another resort. If you catch the first bus at 6:30 - you can make it to the MK by 7 am - but you still aren't at your destination.... And buses that early are NOT regular. One stay at ASMu - first bus was 7 am. I know - I waited at the bus stop starting at 6:20 am.......hoping to make a 7 am reservation at another resort. Luckily - it was a lite day for the restaurant and they still sat me at 7:35 am.

Good advice!!! I always recommend that if you're depending on Disney transportation if trying to get to an ADR earlier than 7:30ish. Of course, if you're at the GF, Polynesian or CR it's not an issue to get to the other monorail resorts, or MK restaurants for 7:15-7:30. But even the monorail doesn't start before 7am. But most restaurants don't start until about 7:30 or so.

I wouldn't worry, buses are always running at least by 7 am. i have never had a problem!

The buses start running at 6:30...that's normal. The issue is that these buses do NOT run as frequently as 'normal' resort to park buses run. The 'normal' buses run every 15-20 mins, the early morning buses run every 30 mins or so. IF you get to the bus stop as one of these buses is just pulling away, you could face a longish wait for the next one. Now....you could get lucky and have another bus come along more quickly, but it's nothing I would count on. It's always a good idea to leave at least an hour, if not a bit more for travel time...start to finish.
