What time did you actually get your villa?

I am sure that many guests have had a good experience with online check-in. I also know, from reading these boards, that there have been problems in some cases. We are less likely to hear from those with good experiences. I suspect that one of the reasons that you are asked for your time of arrival during the online process(even though you are reminded that check-in is after 4PM), is so that an attempt can be made to have your room ready when you arrive. Otherwise, why would they even bother to ask?

Early Sept 08 @ SSR: Check-in at 6:30 am, room ready
Same Trip @ AKV: Check-in at 11:30 am, room ready
Same Trip @ VWL: Check-in at 11:30 am, room ready

Early Oct 08 @ VWL: Check-in at 2:00 pm, room ready

Thanksgiving Week 08 @ SSR: Check-in at 3:30 pm, room ready
Same Trip @ SSR: Check-in at 10:00 am, room ready

You might have put the nail on the head. The other thing that I notice is that SSR seems to be prevalent in getting people late into their villas, and I wonder why that is ?

Personally, I've never made special requests. I've been happy with where I landed. However from this thread it seems that many of us are lucky to get our villas in a timely manner.

I bet the people that are getting in EARLY are the ones that will take whatever section/view/floor. We have requested at OKW and SSR but not at BWV or BCV. At OKW we booked HH category this past Jan. so no request there but before when we stayed there...we just said NEAR HH.

We have been DVC members since 2000 and have never waited for a room. We usually fly on the 7am flight and are in the hotel around 11am. We almost always stay in a studio.

VWL 3 stays rooms ready at upon arrival 11am, once we did arrive at 7pm.
OKW 1 stay room ready at 11am.
SSR 3 stays rooms were all ready at arrival 11am.

We do not normally request a certain view but our stay at SSR this past Aug I did request Congress Park and when we arrived we were offered a room at the Grandstand that was ready now so we took it.

We've been members since 2000 and have had to wait till after 4 to check in up until the last 4 years.

2002 (VWL) & 2004 (BCV) both 2br got in after 4pm
2005 (HHI) Ready at 8:30am
2006 (SSR) & (BWV) Ready at 1pm no waiting
2008 (VWL) Ready at 8am 3 days after t-giving

One thing to note is that the majority of these have a Sunday check in. For members who have a Sunday check in, how will the check in times will be affected due to the reallocation of points? Obviously rooms at DVC have been empty on weekends, allowing members to check in early. We'll see what 2010 brings
